So this is what happens when you take their big brother Drogo to the vets for a booked surgery. They were very disproving of my time away from them π Even though they love our dog sitter, she did inform me it only lasted for around 10 mins and then they settled back down π«β€οΈ

Enrichment for Dogs π
Enrichment.....what does that mean? Well enrichment comes in many forms from lickimats like you see here with 12 week old Timber puppy Rosa to puzzle toys, Kongs stuffed with yummy goodies, scatter feeding making them search out food hidden or scattered around your garden. Hidding treats in boxes stuffed with paper any many more ideas.
Enrichment is great for engaging mental stimulation, as dogs don't just need exercise for their well being they need to engage their minds too.
So on days like today when it is too hot to walk a dog, playing mental games with them is a great way to engage with them and entertain them. Not all enrichment needs to include food. For example in our home all i need to do is fill a pool with water and throw in half a dozen balls and toys that sink and Drogo and Samira will happily play retrieval for ages, Samira has even learned that if she wants the game to last she must put the toys back in the pool herself. She figured that out by herself! She learned to use her brain and figure it out having seen me throw them back in a couple of times, i caught it on video.π
All these games and puzzles are brilliant to stop your dogs from getting bored and giving entertainment to their lives. Dogs are intelligent creatures and many have great problem solving abilities, so by giving them these types of puzzles they get to engage the little grey cells ππΎ What games do you play with your dog?
They have wonderful smiles π₯°π
