Save this post for these tips on how to avoid the crowds on the beach on your next beach break:
🏖️ Walk to the furthest ends, I guarantee it’s quieter because people are lazy and don’t want to walk too far!
🏖️ If you’re staying at a resort with entertainment, this is also likely going to take place at the most accessible spot so head away from here
🏖️ If the beach is small it’s going to feel busier and crowded so head to longer beaches
🏖️ Go earlier or later
🏖️ Don’t forget your headphones
🏖️More generally, book a beach holiday at quieter times, shoulder seasons can still offer great weather without the crowds and avoid school holidays (if you want to avoid children)
🏖️ Seek out lesser known beaches to visit
Do you like to be in the middle of all the action on a beach holiday or do you prefer peace and quiet?

Ahhh, the food and drink in Cuba. Where to start…
I have that much to say on this topic I’ve written a blog post. Well I say a blog post, I’d call it more of a rant post. Link in bio 👉
On my flight home, everyone was whinging about how bad the food was and I’m still annoyed by British society 😩
Food and drink supply in Cuba is limited and knew this before going there so if anyone is planning a trip I advise you to expect the worst and then you can be pleasantly surprised at how great it actually is and not moan about it😊👍
Everyone on my flight that booked a package holiday should also have known this because there are warnings all over the hotel descriptions about limited food supplies in Cuba so don’t whinge if you’ve not read something properly 🙃
If you are veggie, vegan or have dietary requirements then you may find Cuba a difficult place to eat so don’t go without more research first.
More info in my blog 📝
P.s I have no idea what I’m doing with my blog and I got fed up proof reading it after the 10th time so be nice 😅

Massive shout out to everyone that pulls off the video selfies 👏 (which is everyone except me 😂)
I’ve been taking my travel posts more seriously for a few months now and as much as I am trying to use it to advocate for people to step out of their comfort zone, embrace travel as an introvert and do things they’re scared to do. I’m really struggling with the whole videoing yourself thing. Especially in public 🫣 it’s not getting easier or less cringeworthy.
I practically filmed this one in the dark and I think it was the embarrassed glow from my cheeks giving the horizon it’s colour 🍅
Can anyone else relate?
If I can do this to create instagram content then I’m absolutely sure you can push out of your comfort zone to travel 💯
If something scares you, unless you try it, it will always scare you, keep going, keep trying 🙌
I’m surely worth a follow @wherekatywentnext even if it’s just to laugh at my video selfies and cringeworthy poses ✌️

Exploring the Timeless Beauty of Classic Cars in Havana, Cuba. Immerse yourself in the captivating allure of classic cars that grace the streets of Havana, Cuba. These stunning vehicles, both classic and non-classic, exude a rustic charm that is hard to resist. While my knowledge of cars may be limited, I come from a family of mechanics who often tease me for driving a Mercedes with a Renault engine. Nonetheless, I appreciate the value of having an engine in my car. The privately owned classic cars, distinguished by their P number plates, are cherished heirlooms passed down through generations. On the other hand, government-owned cars are available for "rent" to provide taxi and tour services, with the responsibility of maintenance falling on the renters. The level of skill and dedication poured into the mechanics and upkeep of these vehicles is truly awe-inspiring. They are treated as cherished members of the family. Wouldn't it be a dream to experience a ride in one of these classic cars? #Havana #Cuba #ClassicCarsCuba #ClassicCars #TravelCuba
THE CLASSIC CARS 🤩 🇨🇺 They are everywhere and they are so beautiful. I even loved the none classic ones, they add a rustic charm. For context I know absolutely nothing about cars. I have a family of mechanics and my brother regularly laughs at me for driving a Mercedes that has a Renault engine 🤷🏻♀️ I’m quite happy it has an engine. For the classic cars that are privately owned, they’re indicated by a P number plate and they are passed down through the generations. Others are government owned and people can ‘rent’ them for the purposes of providing taxi/tour services, however they’re also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the vehicles. The skill and the love poured into the mechanics and maintenance is unreal 🤯 these cars are a member of the family. Would you love to have a drive in one of these? #havana #cuba #classiccarscuba #classiccars #travelcuba
On a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being the most satisfying, tell me how you rate ticking things off your bucket list ✍️ ✔️
I must have written this list at least 6 years ago. I wrote a retrospective list of things I’ve done and a list of things to do and I’ve not looked at it since so reading it again was interesting and ticking some off comes in at 10 on the scale 🙌
However, only ticking off 3 in 6 years seems a little disappointing but I guess the joy of travelling is adding to the ‘already done’ tick list that you don’t know you have until after 🤗 I could probably fill another page with these.
I now have a list in my notes on my phone as well as a folder called ‘Bucket List’ to save Instagram posts but physically ticking in ink seems so much more satisfying 😄
Do you have a bucket list? How/where do you write it? There must be an app for it these days 📱

A little intro to me 👋
If you haven’t already guessed from my starfish, arms out poses, I am a millennial 😂
I was born with a birthmark on my right cheek. Growing up I realised that it was like my very own world map. The markings in the corner and under my eye are like the Scandinavian countries. The tear drop like marking on my cheek is South America and the island at the bottom is Australia.
I was always worried that I wouldn’t do well travelling, especially solo as an introvert. I really did think you had to be confident and outgoing to manage it. What if I got lost? The thought of having to speak to someone and ask directions terrified me (it still does in England to be honest 😆) but luckily the itchy feet and desire to see and experience the world won over my fear and I haven’t looked back, conquering new fears every trip I take.
If you want to know more about overcoming your fears and travelling as an introvert then give me a follow @wherekatywentnext
I promise you don’t need to be born with a map of the world on your face to do it! 🌍

Simple pleasures 🧡
I love this spot to embrace the peace and tranquillity of the Yorkshire Dales. This was my Dads favourite view and where we scattered half of his ashes so I pop up to say hello every now and then and he said hello back on this visit. A cloud inversion over the Wensleydale valley and a serene sunset, thanks Dad 😍

🍕🧀 ATTENTION CHEESE AND PIZZA LOVERS 👋
This is your sign to travel to Bergamo in Italy for a slice of heaven! If you aren’t a pizza/cheese fan they also have other choices 🥖 🥐
Il Fornaio is a bakery just off the main square in the centre, you can’t miss it because 1. You want to eat everything in the shop window and 2. Everyone crowds around said shop window taking photos 😆
You can get to Milan Bergamo for £25 return from many UK airports and this slice cost me €6.50 so for £30ish you’ve got yourself a great day out 🤗
They have seating inside but it was busy so i got it to takeaway. I found a quiet spot on the library steps in the centre square and after taking the obligatory videos and photos to showcase this moment I sat people watching whilst I ate it, feeling very happy and content with life 😊💫
