“I want to say a huge thank you to the staff at the Royal Gwent Hospital in the Maxillofacial department for their care and kind support with our boy Benjamin and us parents.

Benjamin has autism and he is non-verbal. He was put to sleep to have some teeth taken out, which is not pleasant for anyone, never mind an 8-year-old, super sensory autistic child. The staff made everything go smoothly for him and he did so well.

The after care was amazing! Benjamin was very distressed when he came around. The numb feeling of his mouth was a lot for him to deal with. But the staff were just perfect with him and us. We took him home and within 30 minutes he was calm and happy. Our little trooper!

Thank you so much to all the staff that were involved with Benjamin. You really made this worrying experience a pleasant and easy one with your loving and caring support.” - Clare & Gergo, Benjamin’s parents. 🥰👏

“I'm incredibly grateful for the amazing care my son Riley received at the Royal Gwent and the Grange. As a parent, it’s tough to watch your child struggle. It took Riley an hour to feel comfortable enough to let the staff help him, but their patience, respect, and support made all the difference.

They were there for both of us every step of the way, and thanks to their incredible care, Riley is now healed and doing well after his wrist surgery. Truly a blessing! 💙” – Wendy, Riley’s mum.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the lovely staff at Fracture and Orthopaedics at the Royal Gwent Hospital! 🙏

Our daughter Thea, who has autism, had her follow-up appointment for her broken elbow surgery. She needed her cast taken off and replaced, and the team in the plaster room made it such a positive experience for her.

A special shout-out to Jane, who was incredibly understanding of Thea’s needs and talked her through each step with so much care and patience.

We’re so grateful for the kindness and support. Thank you all so much! 💗” - Rachel, Thea’s mum.
