I never wanted to post this "award" that was given to all staff because for the last few months I've been feeling really down and unappreciated at work. It just felt like we weren't treated as humans and that we were just numbers on a sheet of paper. Not good at all. I have not been feeling very "Christmas-y" either since I initially should have been back home in the Philippines this month for Christmas and my birthday.. but of course work had to ruin it.

Saying all that, my mood has thankfully altered slightly yesterday after one of my night shifts when I had that little boost I needed to lift my spirits up a bit. I know I'm actually not but still I felt a lovely wave of warmth and appreciation from the words --
"Thank you, sister. You're the best Band 6!"
(Band 6 = Charge Nurse)
-- from a nurse who I've worked with for the first time. It was simple but so genuine, it just reminded me of why I strived for this job role in the first place.

So there you go, just sharing my Christmas eve thoughts feeling the spirit of Christmas a bit more and still ever so humbled and grateful for the love and grace that Jesus has for us. 🥰💜
