We visited the ruins of this Buddhist temple on 2nd April 2020, amid the Covid-19 virus pandemic. It's about an hour's drive from our home in Phnom Penh. At the time there was no lockdown in Cambodia but many attractions and all the schools were closed as a precaution so we weren't sure if the temple would be open. When we arrived it was deserted, apart from a handful of locals who were desperate to sell us flowers and incence to offer to Buddha. If you pay close attention to the penultimate clip (the one with the large Buddha statue) you will see a man trying to sleep in the shade at the foot of the statue. Coming from one of the richest countries on Earth to live and travel in one of the poorest is opening our eyes, and, I have to say it, our hearts.

We recently visited the beautiful Buddhist temple at Oudong Mountain, Cambodia to do some filming. As part of the Buddhist ritual, caged birds can be purchased and then released with a wish to reduce bad luck or misfortune. We wished for a victory over Covid-19. Although Cambodia isn't in lockdown (yet), many Khmer people are suffering from the massive downturn in tourism on which their livliehoods, and very their survival, so precariously depend.

There is no lockdown yet in Cambodia, so we are filming as much as possible, but practising social distancing too.

So we went to the temple at Ta Prohm.

It was totally deserted and beautiful.

However, the locals are starving and they rely to heavily on tourism. The reality of Covid-19 was evident on the hungry faces of adults and children.

It is hard to witness and made us feel incredibly sad, but it also made us feel grateful of all the blessings that we have too.

We only had to climb 550 steps to film the perfect view and stunning Buddhist Temple at the height of summer. It is certainly worth it.

Exciting news- we are re-branding 3P Video to Counting Tree Frogs. We're developing a new website, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Twitter and Vimeo account for the re-brand which will come online soon (hopefully :) ) We will still be creating great videos, along with stock footage whilst on our travels around South East Asia. The 3P Video email addresses will continue to work if you need to get in touch with us ([email protected]). We'll post more updates as we have them.

Filming Newark Community First Aid

So 3P Video has been 'behind the scenes' today at the Newark Showground filming Philip and his lovely team at Newark Community First Aid.

2 cups of coffee (a cheeky biscuit) and a 'casualty' later, the filming is wrapped up.

We promise that no humans were hurt during filming although maybe a little bit wet after playing possum.
