Teardrops by Boogie Knights (Womack & Womack Cover)
TEARDROPS is the debut music video that I produced for my function band Boogie Knights. I'm the keyboard player and one of the lead singers.
Because it was the introduction of our band to the world, we wanted to do a straight performance video with a neon purple/blue colour scheme to show off the band. We managed to shoot this in one day and we were very kindly lended the use of the premises of Alan's Tattoo Studio in Moreton, Wirral.
We used a series of live in-camera projections on each member of the band - each with their own futuristic neon design, and I think it looks fantastic - especially the circular projections on Joe Akroyd's drum kit.

THE STREETS OF LIVERPOOL by Barry Briercliffe (Music Video)
My second video with Barry Briercliffe was a love letter to the music scene of Liverpool. It was a two-day shoot around some famous Liverpool landmarks and we were really pleased with how it turned out! There's some minor VFX work including the CG gig posters, day-for-night, and we managed to include some awesome shots from Barry's drone as well.

FIND MY WAY BACK HOME by Barry Briercliffe (Music Video)
I first met Barry Briercliffe when I interviewed him for a segment of my COVID-19 documentary, "The North Remembers" and I was made up when he asked me to devise and direct a music video for him!
We filmed this over three days during the beginning of July 2022 in several locations all across the Wirral and Liverpool. It was a pretty complex shoot involving a live gig, a car interior, shooting in the sand, and a full day's green screen shoot!
Naturally, a lot of the video came together in the editing process due to the amount of visual effects shots required and we're both really pleased with how it came together in the end! A huge thanks to the supporting cast as well - everybody who was involved in the production of the track appears in some shape or form during the course of the video. And Karl Sweeney too, just cos ...

I was delighted to be asked to produce a full package of video assets for this fantastic upcoming stage show marking the illustrious careers of Billy Joel and Elton John. Featuring a nine-piece live band performing the best songs from their expansive catalogues, this shoot was a real pleasure to take part in.
Filmed at Camp and Furnace with a full live production, with a lighting engineer, live audio and full band including brass section, the real challenge here was to ensure I got enough coverage of each song in order to be able to have as much choice as possible when it came to the edit.
I ended up producing over sixty video assets for the promotional campaign, including clips from each song, two different showreels, fifteen-second promo snippets and an animated logo. All had to be provided in widescreen, square Insta Post size and portrait Insta Story size.
I will be providing video content for the show itself on the video walls and I'm very excited to get cracking with what I'm sure is going to be a phenomenal experience!
Go and grab yourself a ticket for the first show in Manchester at the Audacious Church in Salford on Friday 27th May 2022, and give Kord Productions to see what they have in store for you ...

THRILLER by JC & The Two-Steps (Michael Jackson Cover)
I’m so proud of this film I shot for JC & The Two-Steps for Halloween 2021 and I can barely believe that it all came together so amazingly!
When the lads asked me to do a Halloween video for them I didn’t realise just what an epic adventure it would turn out to be. Filmed over several nights, we wanted to make a proper short film with loads crammed in – performance shots, spooky scenes, and scenes with nods to famous horror movies ...
This took me ages to fine-tune the edit and complete all of the visual effects (especially Alex Randles crawling out of a telly dressed as Samara from The Ring).
Special mentions must go to the legendary lizard Pete Price who very graciously agreed to appear in the song, following the footsteps of horror actor Vincent Price who did the original “Thriller rap”. He was a proper professional!
An incredible huge thanks to Marta García for acting brilliantly in this video during a late-night shoot in the middle of the woods - whilst being nine months pregnant! This’ll be one to show the grandkids ...
I can’t thank Gill Gwatkin enough for letting us film The Shining and Scream in her lovely home and for agreeing to appear as Wendy in her official acting debut ... (as far as I’m aware) ... and for doing such an amazing job. And to Pete Gwatkin for spending quite literally all day preparing the prop door for the axe scene – which went absolutely flawlessly as he’s a marvellous engineer. You wouldn’t believe the work that he put in to it and we were terrified as we only had one chance to get the shot.
Thank you to Richie Fisher for driving around for us and picking up the prop door, Debbie Banks and Eddie Williams for their help with securing the axe for us. And Elisabeth Randles for fishing out an old Scream mask for us! Also to Jack Clarke at Camp and Furnace for letting us film in the venue and helping set up. And to Niall Carr for putting up with me barely being around for this past week as I was obsessi
YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND (James Taylor and Carole King) by Niall and Tanya Carr
I was so happy to make this video for my partner Niall, whose sister Tanya flew back from Canada for the first time in five years. This song means a lot to the both of them as their dad used to sing it to them when they were kids, so we had a lot of fun making a really nostalgic music video to go along with the song!
Featuring an array of green-screen footage, old home movies and scanned-in photos, this was a very technically challenging shoot and edit and I'm made up with how it turned out!

BEHIND THE SCENES ... Stay Another Day (East 17) by JC & The Two-Steps
This shows you a side-by-side comparison of the original music video by East 17 and the remake I did with the band! I think we got as close as we possibly could and I'm dead proud of all the work that went in to achieving this one!

BEHIND THE SCENES ... She's American (The 1975) by JC & The Two-Steps
This video shows you the original green-screen footage edit of the video before I began hour after hour of replacing all of the backgrounds, animating shadows, fine-tuning reflections and all the fancy schmancy colour correction. Obviously you can see there were a couple of shots I altered for the final version but this just shows you what it all originally looked like in the studio!
