THE SALIM - JAVED STORY - STREAMING NOW ON NETFLIX

Prime Videos docu-series takes us behind the scenes of the legendary screenwriting duo Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar showcasing the men who revolutionised Indian cinema in the 70’s and 80’s.

The three part series pays homage to the iconic, emotionally charged, anti-establishment characters that Salim-Javed so brought to life, most notably through Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘angry young man.’

Through candid interviews with the duo, their peers, and their families, the series builds a portrait of two screenwriters who, in just 11 years, delivered 20 blockbusters that redefined Indian cinema.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was honoured with the Pardo Alla Carriera at the 77th Locarno Film Festival in Italy.

The prestigious award was presented to Shah Rukh for his significant contributions to Indian cinema.

Dressed in a black tuxedo he charmed the audiences with a heartwarming speech.

“I’ve been a villain, I’ve been a champ, I’ve been a superhero, I’ve been a zero, I’ve been a rejected fan, and I’ve been a very, very resilient lover”.

From the ACR team a huge congratulations to the Badshah of Bollywood, we wish him continuous success and look forward to his future projects.

Prithviraj Kapoor: A Pioneer of Indian Cinema

Prithviraj Kapoor (November 3, 1906 - May 29, 1972) was a legendary Indian actor, director, and producer who played a pivotal role in shaping the Indian film industry. Born in Peshawar, British India (now Pakistan), he began his acting career in the 1920s and went on to become one of the most influential and iconic figures in Indian cinema.

Career Highlights
Prithviraj Kapoor was a key figure in the development of Indian theatre and film. He co-founded the Prithvi Theatre in 1944, a renowned travelling theatre company that showcased Indian classics and social dramas. He also acted in numerous films, including "Alam Ara" (1931), India's first talkie, and "Mughal-e-Azam" (1960), a historical epic that remains a Bollywood classic.

Family Legacy
Prithviraj Kapoor was the patriarch of the famous Kapoor family, which has produced three generations of actors. His sons, Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, and Shashi Kapoor, were all prominent actors, and his grandchildren, including Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, and Karisma Kapoor, have continued the family legacy in the film industry.

Awards and Recognition
Prithviraj Kapoor was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian honor, in 1969 for his contributions to Indian cinema. He also received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1971, the highest honor in Indian cinema, for his lifetime contributions to the industry
