My Milton Keynes proudly unveiled its cutting-edge new website, www.mymk.cc, along with the launch of its sleek magazine, simply titled NEWS, during an exclusive event for a select audience.

MKC TV was on hand to capture all the highlights of this exciting milestone.

The evening kicked off with a stylish drinks reception and networking hour, creating a buzz of anticipation. Paul Davis, Chair of My Milton Keynes, officially opened the event, followed by engaging presentations from Jill Farnsworth, CEO, and Charlotte Pearson, Marketing Director. They passionately shared the vision behind the website launch and offered a glimpse into the future plans for the platform.

The new website boasts a comprehensive directory, in-depth guides, reviews, and a dedicated events section tailored to businesses within Milton Keynes City Centre. Whether you're planning your next visit or looking to share recommendations with friends, the platform is set to become an indispensable resource for locals and visitors alike.

The NEWS magazine complements the site, offering a wealth of articles and insights closely tied to the online content, ensuring that readers stay informed and connected to the community.

The evening wrapped up with delicious pizza and dips, leaving everyone in high spirits. Attendees were also treated to exclusive gift bags, capping off a night of celebration.

With a strong turnout and an electric atmosphere, the launch event was a resounding success.

The newly elected Coffee Hall Residents Association is hosting a Halloween party at the Coffee Hall Community Centre on 31st October 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

This year, they are focusing on making the event inclusive for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)—a first for the community.

They are excited to announce that the Mayor of Milton Keynes will be joining the festivities as a special guest, and are partnering with the charity Little Miracles, who will also be in attendance.

MKC TV will be in attendance to capture the event for our various platforms so come and say hi!

Do you enjoy volunteering, engaging with the community, or helping others? If so, we need your help! The Resident’s Association is looking for volunteers to assist with various tasks during the event, such as setting up, running games, handing out food, supervising doors, and helping with clean-up afterward.

In addition, they are seeking adult volunteers with learning disabilities who would like to get involved by participating in games, running activities, or selling items at the event. Every volunteer will be paired with a buddy for support.

This summer Nutri Troops Golden Games has helped over 3,600 primary aged children in Milton Keynes to keep active, learn about the importance of diet and exercise whilst taking part in fun team challenges at free camps in primary schools, holiday clubs and domestic abuse refuges. This amazing programme has been made possible thanks to support from Places Leisure, John Lewis, Allica Bank, Milton Keynes Council, Brioche Pasquier, Pink Balloon, Milton Keynes Christian Centre and Morrisons supermarket.

The programme concluded with over 200 children taking part in the Nutri Troops Golden Games Finals at St Paul’s Catholic School and at MK Act’s Domestic Abuse Refuge.

Created by Peter Bakare, local GB Olympian and founder of Nutri Troops, the Nutri Troops Golden Games was hosted by top athletes and offered children a golden opportunity to compete in a range of Olympic sports, crafts and cookery workshops. Breakfast, snacks and lunch were included and medals and prizes were presented to all participants

Key executives from the Headline Sponsor Places Leisure came along to help and enjoy the day, along with the Deputy Mayor James Lancaster and Selina Dunn from Allicia Bank- they were all delighted to see so many happy children. BBC Look East also came to film and 5 On It Foundation were thrilled to see the Nutri Troops Golden Games featured in the 6.30pm news.

The Headline Sponsor for the programme was Places Leisure, part of Places for People who are one of the UK’s Leading social enterprises with over 30 million visits annually and over 100 sites across the nation.

This initiative has made a significant impact on children’s health and well-being, fostering a love for physical activity and teamwork. Peter Bakare was over the moon with the success of the day and said, “It’s estimated that over 10,000 children live in poverty in Milton Keynes and we wanted to provide a free summer of activities that had no barriers to participation where children could compete in a range of fun activities and enjoy making healthy food too! Sport has given me a multitude of things but what’s important it’s given me a voice to be able to help the next generation. We are incredibly grateful to Places Leisure and all our sponsors for making the day happen”.
