A gentle reminder for those women who appear not to get enough hours in a day:
“My grandmother said:
Don't let the pans shine brighter than you.
Don't take house cleaning so seriously.
Wipe off dust when needed, but take the time to paint a picture or write a poem, take a walk, or visit a friend.
Cook what you want, take care of your plants.
Take time to have a coffee, a tea,
swim, go to the mountains, exercise.
You can play with a dog, read a book,
and spend valuable time with friends.
Wipe off dust if necessary, but
remember that life needs to be lived
outdoors as well.
You know this day will never come again.
Wipe off dust if necessary, but
don't forget that you are getting
older and many things you can do now
are not so easy to do in old age.
And when the time comes to leave,
as we will all leave at some point,
you will become dust too ...
And no one will remember how many bills you paid,
not even your clean house, but they will remember
your friendship, your behaviour, and what you taught them."
