British Pie Week 3-10th March celebrates Britian’s most important contribution to world food heritage, the pie. We eat over £1billion of them every year, hot-cold, sweet-savoury and now gluten free, vegan, fusion etc. They’ve been with us since the Middle Ages when they were called ‘coffyns’. At that time the poor ate pies made from the entrails of venison, called ‘umbles’ hence the expression ‘To Eat Umble Pie”.
We at Bubbling Stove will be celebrating British Pie Week by showcasing our delicious brownie pies. We’ve also entered the British Pie Awards, the highlight of pie week when over 800 pies battle it out to become the ‘Pie of Pies’ or Supreme Champion.
All the pies we've entered this year are gluten free. Fingers crossed for the awards and may the best pie win
