Oh yes, Episode 108 of Battle Streams in Middle-earth will be beaming into your interweb boxes at 8pm tonight for our super-spectacular Christmas Special! Stressed about a tough week (or year) at work? Well Let It Go and come and join Damian, Harry and Sam for their last stream of the year as they chat all things Chrimbo, give away some Christmas presents to their lovely Patrons, reflect on the launch of the new edition and War of the Rohirrim and catch up on everything else that's gone on in the hobby for the last few weeks! It goes without saying that your stream snacks should be Christmas themed and Fancy Dress is HIGHLY encouraged (don't forget to Show Yourself in the WIP thread).

Most important of all, let's get that backlog cleared! Some Things Never Change and the main point of Battle Streams in Middle-earth is for us all to come together for a few hours and get some painting done. Our ethos is that you should be working on something relevant to the featured episode and this time that means... well quite a lot really to be honest!

As it's a Christmas special, we're opening the competition to any model that you can convince us is Christmassy enough, whether that be because of fir tress, snow, beards, red and green, being called Merry, painting Annarielle and Elsarielle or pretty much anything else really!

OH YES, whilst you're obviously welcome to come and join us while painting anything, if you're working on any Christmas-themed model during the stream then you'll be in with a chance of winning one of our unique Battle Streams in Middle-Earth dice.

Remember, part of the fun of this is going Into The Unknown and getting some paint on old, long-forgotten models that are years down your painting queue so why not go and grab those long abandoned, unloved dusty models lurking at the back of the cupboard (we've all got them!), get them cleaned up and primed and come and dent that backlog by painting them red and green - you've got 9 hours!

Come and join Damian and guest host Christopher Murfitt as they talk all things Halloween and catch up on everything else that's gone on in the hobby for the last few weeks including the BIG news: THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF LORD THORNE! It goes without saying that your treats should be Halloween themed and Fancy Dress (to be shown off in the WIP thread) is HIGHLY encouraged.

Come and join Damian and Harry Parkhill as they take a deep dive into the Dead of Dunharrow, get some translucent Army of the Dead assembled and some classic Army of the Dead painted, and have a natter about their hopes for the new edition!

Hi all, Damian here, it’s been awful quiet around here of late so it’s time with a big BSIME update SPOILERS! it end with the wonderful news that our live streams will be starting back up again tomorrow Friday 13th!

It’s been nearly three months since episode 100 and an awful lot has happened since then. As our Patrons will know, Steve has had a series of ongoing personal changes which mean he simply can’t commit to regularly attending the streams for the foreseeable future. However, he very much wants to see BSIME continue to flourish and we have come up with the following plan with his full blessing.

There will be no-one replacing Steve, no-one ever could, but instead I have now assembled a small team of crack guest hosts to keep his seat warm for him; think of them like Stewards, who will help me to nurture the white tree of BSIME while we await the return of the king. Hopefully you'll all enjoy the streams going forwards and the wonderful community that we've all helped to build over the past four and a half years will continue to grow

So, the big news you've been after, I'm delighted to say that the next episode of Battle Streams in Middle-earth will be tomorrow, Friday 13th September with guest host Sam Page. After this, there will also be a stream on Saturday 21st September, so you can get them both in your diary and, following that, I hope that the streams will once more settle into a Friday/Saturday slot every 2-3 weeks.

Tomorrow night’s stream will be a special for the new Angmar supplement as we're hoping that the books and models will have reached people by then - the theme will be any model that has a profile in the new supplement so we can all get cracking on our new toys. Hopefully bringing the streams back with an accompanying celebration of the return of new releases for the game should also be a pretty cool way to celebrate and begin this new era! I for one think it's gonna be great having the streams back with all the exciting SBG and Middle-earth content to come in the next few months - if anything it feels bizarrely appropriate that we're starting on episode 101...

I hope this comes as welcome news, I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing Steve the best and letting him know that we all hope he can return sooner rather than later but until he does, please show your support for all of the guest hosts going forwards and let's clear that backlog.

Finally, thank you all so, so much for your ongoing support and patience, we really do appreciate it, you guys help keep BSIME going and it is not taken for granted. I honestly believe we’ve got the best little sub-community anywhere in the world and I’m very keen to nurture it and help it grow as we march forward towards the final binder of magazines!
