Hello,
I hope you have had a good week.
Here is a preview of my new "Freeman's Choice" programme which you can hear today (Tuesday) 2 to 4 pm BST on L & D Radio.
My “First and Last” is the Dutch rock band Shocking Blue, the “Who & What” is a female singer born in Essex in 1961 and a track she recorded in 1984, the “Connect 3” has been suggested by Jules Turland, and I accidently made it more difficult by playing the original of a track, which was an instrumental. The group added lyrics later. I also have a tribute to DJ/radio presenter Dave Foster, who died on the 25th August.
The new indie music is by The Automatics, Sycamore Tree, The Burbs, Anubis, Aura & Stem.
The older music is from the “Who & What” singer, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Squeeze, Styx, Procol Harum, Grand Funk Railroad, Chris De Burgh, Moody Blues, Rory Gallagher, Lou Reed, Electric Light Orchestra, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Steely Dan, Kate Bush, and Santana.

Hi,
This week my "Freeman's Choice" programme is dedicated to Sue Roberts, a long time loyal and regular listener, who sadly died of pancreatic cancer last week. I have chosen tracks by artists who I know Sue loved, including some of her local ones, and I am also playing songs about California (where Sue lived), and with the name Sue in the title.
Also on this weeks show my "First & Last" is Joe Bonamassa (especially for Sue), an easy "Connect 3", the "Who & What" is a male American singer, songwriter, author, actor, and radio host born in 1941 and a song released as a single in 1971/1972 and I will be commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the closure of the Dutch pirate radio on the 31st August 1974.
The new indie music I am playing is by Jess Tuthill, Alex Lucero Band, Bank Street Martyrs, Sad Dads, Pale Blue Dot, & Bill Ireton, who has a new album out today,
The older music is from the "Who & What" artist, Brue Springsteen, Looking Glass, Mamas & The Papas, Brian Wilson, Led Zeppelin, BZN, Beth Hart, Chicago, Del Shannon, Johnny Cash, Fats Waller, John Mayer, Dion, The Beatles, Emmylou Harris, & Wings (2-hour version only).

This week my “First and Last” is Suzanne Vega, the “Connect 3” is another one devised by Jules Turland, the “Who & What” an English Rock band formed in London in 1964 and a track from their 1982 album, and I commemorate the 57th Anniversary of the Marine Offences Act, which came into effect at midnight on the 14th August 1967 and closed all, but one of the UK pirate radio stations.
The new music this week is from Briggs & Stark. Pale Blue Dot, The Garnetts, Olive Dares the Darkness, Comforts & Jef Bek.
The older music is from the “Who & What” band, Bon Jovi, Petula Clark, Rolling Stones, Roaring Sixties, T.Rex, Meat Loaf, J.J. Cale, Johnnie Walker, Neil Young, Talking Heads, Kayak, Michael Schenker Group, Stevie Vaughan & Double Trouble, & Tears for Fears.
