Dear Resident

Re: Proposed Sutton Bonington Conservation Area

Rushcliffe Borough Council has reviewed and identified the potential for parts of Sutton Bonington to be designated as a conservation area as they possess a special architectural and historic character which it would be desirable to preserve and enhance.

The Borough Council has subsequently proposed a boundary for a conservation area. The draft appraisal document justifies the designation, explaining what the special architectural and historic character and appearance of the proposed area is considered to be.

We are currently writing to anyone who lives within the existing conservation area boundary or within any proposed extensions to that boundary as part of making residents aware of the consultation process in connection with the revised appraisal. Please be aware that if, or when, any boundary changes are adopted we will only write to those properties which have a change in status as a consequence of adopted changes (i.e. properties which are currently outside of the boundary and are included within a revised boundary, or vice versa); residents of properties unaffected by boundary changes will not be further notified.

The public consultation exercise will run from Friday 18th October to Monday 11th November 2024, inclusive, and within this period a drop-in consultation event has been arranged to be held at the Village Hall on Monday 28th October from 4pm until 7pm. Council staff will be on hand to answer any questions you might have about the consultation process and the implications of conservation area designation, however, a summary is included with this letter.

The draft appraisal document to be consulted on will be available online via:
https://www.rushcliffe.gov.uk/planning-growth/conservation/conservation-areas/about-conservation-areas/

A physical copy of the draft document will be available to view at Rushcliffe Arena reception during business hours and also at the library in Sutton Bonington during their opening hours.

Suppose you wish to comment on the proposal. In that case, you can do so via email to [email protected]; in writing to the postal address provided to the right margin of this letter marked for the attention of the Conservation Area Review Officer; or hand a written note to the officer present at the consultation event.

Yours sincerely,

Andrew Langley

All paths in both Diamond Woods (end of Pasture Lane and bottom of Soar Lane) have had their paths cut and widened, following a very positive meeting with Nottingham University's Estate Team and the PC, big thank you to them for listening to all the walkers concerns.
