This is part of a seven week programme which has been kindly funded by The Boost Charitable Trust to promote healthy living and well being for blind and partially sighted people who may feel isolated or unable to access local sessions.

A wonderful Winter Morning to you all. For those of you, like me, that get lost with calling all days all the Christmas names and forget the actual names, today is Friday. It is a fresh and cool morning with a little winter fog. It's a little dull, but makes me think of all those lovely animals snuggled up in there homes, hibernating. And I too will be snuggling down with a blanket and maybe a hot chocolate late. But don't shut the winter air out, if you can, try let some fresh air into your lungs. Whether that is by going for a walk, or just sitting by an open window, The fresh air does us wonders. Enjoy everyone and have a lovely day.

Why do they call it Boxing Day? In spite of its peculiar name, Boxing Day has nothing to do with fisticuffs, the trashing of empty boxes left over from Christmas or the return of unwanted presents to department stores. The term is of British origin, and the Oxford English Dictionary traces its earliest print attribution to 1833, four years before Charles Dickens referred to it in “The Pickwick Papers.” The exact roots of the holiday name are unknown, but there are two leading theories, both of which are connected to charity traditionally distributed to lower classes on the day after Christmas.
