We are delighted to announce that we will be working with the fabulous MICHELLE NDEGWA, currently playing MOTORMOUTH MAYBELLE in the UK Tour of HAIRSPRAY! đŸ•șđŸ»â­ïž

Michelle is a soul and gospel singer, best known for her performances as a vocalist for the Gorillaz. She has recorded with Billy Porter, Gregory Porter (Troy Miller), Shapeshifters, Yard Act, Becky Hill, Rita Ora, and Deseri. Michelle obtained the role after being selected from more than 3000 people who applied to the open auditions in November last year.

Michelle has toured and worked with Wizkid, Lizzo, Jorja Smith, Emeli Sande, Becky Hill, Nubya Garcia, TLC, Liam Gallagher, Ray BLK, Nina Nesbit, Shakka, Tom Odell, and Trevor Nelson (Soul Christmas at the Royal Albert Hall).

TV/radio credits include The Tonight Show (Jimmy Fallon), Good Morning America, The Graham Norton Show (BBC), Later with Jools Holland (BBC), The Zoe Ball Show (ITV), Live Lounge, and BBC Radio 2.

The new cast will have their first performances in Cardiff (where the show currently plays) on 20 January 2025. Into next year, the show will run at Alhambra Theatre, Bradford (28 January to 15 March 2025), Mayflower, Southampton (18 March to 26 April 2025), Liverpool Empire (6 May to 7 June 2025), Sunderland Empire (17 June to 26 July 2025), Theatre Royal, Plymouth (30 July to 6 September 2025), Norwich Theatre Royal (16 September to 25 October 2025) and Theatre Royal Glasgow (29 October to 27 December).

Finally able to announce that our brilliant BEN LANCASTER will be joining the Ensemble of the UK TOUR of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT with 1st Cover Reuben and 2nd Cover Simeon! 🌈

The show has run in the West End, on Broadway and worldwide. Songs included in the piece are “Any Dream Will Do”, “Close Every Door To Me”, “Jacob and Sons”, “There’s One More Angel In Heaven” and “Go Go Go Joseph”. It tells the biblical story of Joseph and his eleven brothers.

The NYMT mission is “...to provide children and young people with the best opportunities to inspire and shape the future of music theatre” and oh my goodness they are TRULY doing that and with bells on!! ⁠

Our brilliant client LEE FREEMAN was the Musical Director for the NYMT production of Our House that was performed earlier this year and it was wonderful to see him with director Nick Evans and Choreographer Simon Hardwick - all who were at the launch to support this brilliant charity and the stunning work it does to produce dynamic, safe and nurturing platforms for children and young people to grow and flourish with music theatre. ⁠

It seemed very fitting for a reunion at an event championing the next generation of musical theatre performers when Michelle bumped into her former student - Craig Stein - who she taught at The Sylvia Young Theatre School. Full circle moment. ⁠

The young people are our future.. let’s champion and raise them high so that they may flourish and fly ... thank you NYMT and congratulations to wonderful performers from PLATFORM. ⁠
