Theatre Royal Bath will present this 20th-anniversary production of Alan Bennett’s acclaimed play - Set against the backdrop of A-Level results day at Cutler’s Grammar School in 1980s Sheffield, The History Boys delves into the lives of eight spirited teenagers who aspire to secure spots at Oxford and Cambridge universities, and the teachers assisting them to do this.⁠

“…George Maguire and Natalie McQueen stole every comedic scene as Buck and Blanche Barrow, whilst blowing me away with their skillful vocals. With controlled vibratos and Texan twangs, the couple’s singing voices felt akin to the banjos heard in the score: equal parts bouncy and charming. Their comedic timing was incredible, with each minuscule mannerism building up to create captivating presences”

MARTHA GODBER plays Arlene in BBC RADIO 4 FLIXBOROUGH 74 a drama by Helen Cross. ⁠
⁠
Real-life interviews and drama combine to mark fifty years since the Nypro disaster, in the small village of Flixborough in North Lincolnshire. ⁠
⁠
At 4.53pm on 1st June 1974, an explosion ‘of warlike dimensions’ silenced the nearby town of Scunthorpe. One of the UK’s worst ever chemical explosions, it turned the Nypro chemical plant at Flixborough into a wasteland, burning for ten days and scorching surrounding fields. Two hundred houses were destroyed, over a thousand properties damaged and sending a toxic gas cloud drifting towards Yorkshire. Thirty-six people were seriously injured and twenty-eight men died. ⁠
⁠
This drama-documentary interweaves the testimony of people who were directly affected by the disaster with a fictionalised reconstruction of key preceding events. ⁠
⁠
Everyone in Scunthorpe – and for fifty miles around - knows exactly where they were when Nypro went up. The writer and producer both lived nearby as children. They both heard the explosion and remember the trauma of its aftermath on local people. The disaster shocked the nation, and led to extensive, hitherto unacceptably strict developments in health and safety legislation. ⁠

Pete and Les are trying to restart the reactors at the Nypro chemical works when they notice a rise in pressure. Peggy and Arlene are having fun at the Appleby-Frodingham Steel Gala, unaware of how their world is about to change.⁠

Carousel originally premiered on Broadway in 1945. It follows an ill-fated romance between a carousel barker named Billy Bigelow and millworker Julie Jordan and features such standards as “If I Loved You”, “June Is Bustin’ Out All Over” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. It was also named as Time magazine’s ‘Best Musical of the 20th Century’.⁠

Carousel will be staged at the Royal Festival Hall at 7pm on Saturday, 13 July 2024, with tickets on sale from Thursday, 25 April.⁠

Jacqui is a tour de force in the world of musical theatre. After a career long relationship with Bob Fosse’s work - Jacqui was in the original west end cast of Chicago and subsequently in the original west end cast of Fosse - She is the first UK Educator under the Verdon Fosse Estate.

Jacqui is respected by so many people in the industry and the Laduca brand even named their iconic “JJ” boot after her! …..

Needless to say we are thrilled to be representing Jacqui and equally thrilled to see her reconnected with the incredible Anthony Van Laast. Throughout her career Jacqui has appeared in many of Anthony’s productions both on stage and screen!

Jacqui is going to take the Barbican by storm and a whole new generation of audiences will be able to see what an incredibly special performer she is!

Kiss Me Kate, hailed as Cole Porter’s greatest musical comedy, is set for a 15-week run at London’s Barbican Theatre directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher.⁠

COOL RIDER is back for the 10th Anniversary Concert, this time at the London Palladium on Sunday, April 14th.

JACOB FOWLER has been announced to play Louis.

💫 TOM PIGRAM has been announced to play the iconic role of Electra in the eagerly anticipated, brand new production of STARLIGHT EXPRESS at the specially designed Starlight Auditorium at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre. ⚡️

Tom recently completed their MFA at GSA. Prior to this Tom received a First Class BA Honours and Post Graduate MSt from University of Oxford.
