Chirag Shetty's command spurred his partner, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, and he jumped up high and there was a loud bang when his racket hit the shuttlecock.

In that electrifying moment, Shetty along with Rankireddy etched their names in history, becoming the first Indian badminton pair to clinch the elusive gold at the Badminton Asia Championships, marking India's first victory in the tournament in a staggering 58 years.

Chirag’s journey began long before these thunderous triumphs. Mumbai-born Chirag, showcasing early promise, dominated the badminton courts of his school. From Mumbai's Goregaon Sports Club to the Uday Pawar Academy, and finally to the hallowed halls of the Gopichand Academy.

Satwiksairaj, born to a former badminton player and retired from physical education, developed an interest in badminton at 6. Initially trained by his father at the Officer's Club in Amalapuram, he later joined the Gopichand Badminton Academy in 2014 after showcasing his talent where they both met.

Their partnership was fostered during the 2017 Korea Open, where they toppled the seventh-seeded Lee Jhe-Huei and Lee Yang in a stunning Super Series quarterfinal upset.
From there, their trajectory was unyielding. Victories rained down - They became the first Indian doubles pair to achieve the coveted world number-one ranking following their gold medal-winning feat at the Asian Games in Hangzhou.

Their resounding "Chal, maar" echoes not just on the court, but as a clarion call for future generations of Indian stars to soar ever higher.
