Speaking on the exhibiton Vincent says “With RƎTRO/GRADƎ, Sarah & I were presented with an interesting new challenge in multi-channel/spatial audio composition rather than traditional stereo. Our starting criteria were pretty simple: that the piece needed to be around 15 minutes in length and we wanted the sound to dynamically rotate both clockwise and anticlockwise. Sonically, it combines spoken word, AI voice synthesis, and field recordings from volcanoes interpreted as percussive elements and tonal sound design.
The whole performance developed from there in a collaborative creation with choreographer Georgia Tegou and dancer Synne Lundesgaard. Conceptually, RƎTRO/GRADƎ delves into the asynchronicity of human and technological rhythms, exploring the cyclical nature of organic and celestial movements as a form of defiance and resilience amidst technological accelerationism.

A song dedicated to Nick Beggs wife for their anniversary he says it's for "all the years she’s put up with me. Need I say more. The Woman is a saint" 😂
Joining our trio of masterful musos on this track with additional guitar is none other than the legend - ALEX LIFESON (RUSH / Envy of None ). On the collaboriation Beggs said “Our history with Alex Lifeson goes back quite a few years to when Rush invited numbers of artists to rerecord an anniversary version of their classic album 2112. Steven Wilson and band rattled off a version of The Twilight Zone one afternoon during sound check which was included on the final release. I also invited Alex to play guitars on the Mute Gods’ song One Day so I guess it was only a question of time before he was asked to contribute to Trifecta too. I don’t like to bug him too much but if it’s a song I think he’ll enjoy I’ll inevitably send him a demo to gauge his response. He instantly related to Once Around The Sun and added some wonderful guitar colour to the track.”
