ROUGH Presents THE TELEPHONE CALL By ACTUARIUS - Diary Of A Part Time Futurist. A brief look online gives the definition of "Sintesi" as "The formation of something complex or coherent by combining simpler things." So it was that Marinetti, fool and inspiration, along with his acolytes embraced the concept of the Sintesi as a tool for artistic exploration. After all, how is art to explore the intangible, the sensation, the high minded concept without recourse to abstraction or synthetic representation? The Telephone Call is an original Sintesi consisting of three parts that explores the nature of self-determination and consequence. Beyond this I refuse to add context or explanation, the provision of “artist's notes” is a lazy sham. There must be an unspoken contract between artist and public. Art enriches through the partnership of the creative and the audience, not through leading the masses by the nose to a single pre-determined conclusion. My profuse thanks to those who inspired, informed and helped create this short film, the first of the trilogy – the synthesis of cause and effect.
