Thank you very much to Shinfield Studios who hosted Studio Pow for a tour of their brand new Reading premises today.

A very impressive facility - they really have thought of everything to make production as smooth as possible.

This past weekend, Studio Pow’s Louis Moir went to the Flatpack Film Festival 2024 to take part in a Q and A about his award-winning feature film ‘A Brush with Comedy.’ Louis was joined on stage by Spencer Jones, one of the contributors in the film.

“It (A Brush with Comedy) is a film which playfully interrogates the relationship art has with comedy historically, highlighting where they overlap whilst examining how they are often seen as diametrically opposed.” - Directors Notes

It feels like Cannes Film Festival comes around so quickly every year, but it has been great to be back.

It is always an excellent opportunity to meet potential new buyers, and we were particularly pleased with yet another overwhelmingly positive response to our upcoming film ‘Midas Man’ - the biopic about The Beatles manager Brian Epstein.

Our wider slate of projects, including a christmas film, a comedy film, and a number of high-end TV series, also had a positive reception amongst buyers, with one describing the comedy in particular as a film that will ‘cut through’ a very challenging market.

A busy, productive and highly enjoyable few days.

Last week, alongside other industry colleagues including , , and , Tom Kennedy represented Studio Pow at ‘Getting In; Getting On’, a roadshow event in Bristol aimed at offering advice to up and coming regional talent who want to get into off screen roles in high-end TV.

Building early relationships with regional talent is so important, and it was a great event meeting so many passionate people. Thank you to Addie, Alison and everyone else at for having us, and to for hosting. We hope everyone found it useful and we look forward to connecting with some of you in the future.

Another Festival update!

We are please to announce that alongside Directors Notes, Louis Moir's 'A Brush with Comedy' has also been selected to feature at Flatpack Festival 2024. Louis will be doing a Q and A alongside Spencer Jones ( ), one of the comedians/artists that feature in the film.

We bid a heartfelt farewell to a beloved member of Studio POW's extended family and a true legend in the industry. On Tuesday, February 27th, 2024, we lost Jim Reeve, the founder of Great Point Media. Jim's four-decade journey in the entertainment world left an indelible mark and his presence will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and sympathies go out to Jim's family.
