The Bearded Tit's podcast is for nature nuts from wildlife cameraman Jack Perks. Jack is interviewing Wildlife Cameraman Ross Birnie who's worked on everything from drone work on Star Wars to Filming David Attenborough in his kitchen! We talk about what it's like being a professional the ups, downs and how he carved out a career in filming.

Hosted by Jack Baddams & Roddy Shaw, How Many Geese has spent the last 4 years and 7 seasons curating the finest collection of mad nature stories anywhere on the internet. Join them as they guide you through a collection of nature's greatest hits - everything from a USB found in a seal to the time that sea otters got them cancelled.

There'll be nibbles and drinks available on the day along with merch from the podcasts. The event is aimed at adults so the odd naughty word may be uttered!

πŸŽ™οΈ INTERNATIONAL PODCAST DAY 🎧

πŸŽ‰ It's International Podcast Day so we wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone for listening and supporting the show πŸ™πŸ™

πŸ“Έ Here's some snaps from our journeys over the last few years in making the show - none of which would have been possible without you all as listeners.

πŸ† We're crediting some of these as possible (probable) firsts in the world of podcasting - including first recorded on the back of a camel, and first recorded at the top of an ancient pyramid!

( .... If you're interested)

πŸ‡²πŸ‡¬ Also here is a photo from when we first met and, with time to pass, created a pool table out of some broken wood, sticks and round fruit....

⏬ Let us know your favourite episode, fact or moment from the show!

πŸŽ‰ HAPPY WORLD CASSOWARY DAY TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE πŸŽ‰

πŸ¦– The cassowary is one of nature's most unstoppably badass creations. A giant flightless dinosaur bird with a knife for a toe and a bone mohawk.

πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί And OF course..... It's from Australia

🎨 Check out this fantastic drawing sent in by as part of the now annual, and deeply spiritual, How many geese? World Cassowary Day celebrations

🦌🚨 ...SAFARI?... IN NORFOLK?? 🚨🦌

πŸ“† Earlier in the year, Roddy did a deep dive on antelopes to find out more about them - only to decide they were in fact deeply uninteresting and best left as lion food.... (Episode: Hot Bear Summer)

β™ŸοΈ WELL. In a move that can only be described as checkmate, Jack went and took Roddy on safari..... at an entirely unique wildlife reserve in Norfolk.

🌍 Welcome to Watatunga! The UK's very own slice of Africa nestled in, of all places, East Anglia.

πŸŽ™οΈ We chat to their Head of Operations Molly to learn just why antelopes shouldn't be consigned to carnivore fodder on Attenborough.

🚨 GEESE ON TOUR (🐈🐱+🩹🩹🩹🩹🩹) 🚨

πŸŽ™οΈ We've mummified the microphones and are back at in Liverpool for a special episode exploring everything animal mummy with Egyptologist Dr. Ashley Cooke.

🀯 We'll be honest here - we think this is the coolest thing that has happened to us since starting the show! We headed out the real Indiana Jones section of the museum - with crates, and artifacts, and long warehouse corridors with the big light switches - to see all things ancient, animal, embalmed and Egyptian.

πŸ€• With thousands upon thousands upon THOUSANDS of mummified animals out there (it turns out!), it's a wonder it's not anything we'd ever thought about before. Luckily, we had Ashley there to take us through.... Oh just a couple thousand years of history, and we'd like to apologise now for the dent in his curation store's floor from our jaws constantly hitting the floor. (....... That bandage head is as close as Instagram gets to a mummy emoji)

πŸ”Ό Listen in for fact after mine blowing fact on nature and the ancient world colliding, but the tale of the mummies comes right up to the "present" day. It turns out there was SUCH demand for mummified animals in ancient Egypt that with SO. MANY. MUMMIES. having been made - they were taken off and used as fertiliser when the Victorians started discovering them?! (...... Honestly, I'm saying that triangle emoji is a pyramid)

πŸ›οΈ A big thank you to Ashley and the team at World Museum for making this happen πŸ™
