Lunick Uri ‘Greed’ 2024.

‘Greed’ delves deep into the predatory nature of avarice, both in the animal kingdom and in human society. The artwork juxtaposes the natural predatory behaviour of the devil fish with the indiscriminate capture by human fishing nets. This dual threat creates a stark visual representation of the never-ending greed, hunger and peril the smaller, vulnerable creatures are faced with. This piece challenges viewers to consider the impact of their actions and the broader implications of greed on both the environment and society.

江峰 Jiang Feng ‘U.S. (Unwholesome Shelter)「美」國’ photography series.

江峰 Jiang Feng views the body as the primary site for examining and challenging systemic issues of gender, race, and sexuality. Their work engages with feminism, performance studies, and somatics to create spaces for dialogue, reflection, and change.
This series recruits non-professional models and juxtaposes the torn United States flag against the naked bodies of many genders, races, sexualities, nationalities, and cultural backgrounds to capture their vulnerability, emotions, and strength, critiquing the United States as the dreamland and shelter for people, especially immigrants. It is an intriguing combination of documentary photography and fine art creative endeavour.

Vivienne Timchenko ‘DO YOU HEAR THE SIRENS’. Digital photograph collages.

‘DO YOU HEAR THE SIRENS’ is a series of works that responds to Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine and reminds us of the urgency of global human rights violations.
Both literal and metaphorical, sirens echo the daily terror faced by victims of conflict. Bomb sirens interrupt ordinary moments like a walk in the park or morning coffee. The images, taken globally from London to Mexico City, feature collaged Russian planes, becoming a stark reminder of the violence they bring.

“Leilah Babirye continues to deal with her ghosts in the most courageous manner possible. Her journey from Uganda to the United States is not just a geographical transition but a narrative of seeking refuge and redefining identity. Her roots are tied to Uganda, where she faced intense homophobia, epitomised by the Anti-Homosexuality Bill of 2009… Babirye’s art challenges these discriminative, oppressive narratives by reclaiming and redefining them.”

Our latest Magazine, Issue 11, features a review and insight into sculptural practice and current exhibition at by our writer ✨

Kerru ‘Q***r In A Conservative Asian Household’. Digital Print, 29.7cm x 420 cm.

‘Q***r In A Conservative Asian Household’ reflects on Kerru’s experiences in their conservative Asian household, where their gender identity is seen as something taboo and shameful. This work subtly tackles the estrangement and masking that many Q***r individuals have to navigate in order to keep the peace in the family.
