Adapted from Christina Crawford’s 1978 autobiography of the same name, the film follows her and her brother Christopher’s upbringing under their adoptive mother, actress Joan Crawford, depicting her as abusive, controlling, and manipulative, prioritizing her Hollywood career over her family.

Keith Haring began collaborating with Grace Jones, whom he had met through Andy Warhol, for an interview magazine shoot in 1984. Haring body painted Jones for her role of Katrina the Queen of The Vampires in the 1986 film Vamp. Haring collaborated with David Spada, a jewelry designer, to design the sculptural adornments for Jones.

Set almost entirely in a French restaurant, this bold, controversial film utilizes follows the exploits of a ruthless British gangster whose long suffering wife forges a relationship with one of the restaurant’s patrons behind his back.

What’s new about A bout de souffle? To begin with, the way characters are conceived. Godard never uses a particularly precise line in the way he sketches his characters; instead, he follows – consciously – a series of contradictory directions. Godard is an instinctive creator, and rather than logic per se (which he was happy enough to follow in his first, tentative efforts, but which he is now too lazy to follow – and I don’t think it interests him), he follows the logic of his instinct.

Currently in Berlin for tonight’s premiere of ‘The Visitor’ _ the film is part of 2024, selected for the official .panorama competition.

Our editor-in-chief played the role as producer, co-writer and casting director, as well as serving as art director.

Our feature editor also contributed as a producer, co-writer and played a role as a casting director this film.

This project began as a natural extension of the fashion story that LaBruce photographed in Antwerp in 2022 [presented in our issue 5], inspired by Pasolini’s ‘Theorem’ [1968].

In the early 1970s, Rainer Werner Fassbinder discovered the American melodramas of Douglas Sirk and was inspired by them to begin working in a new, more intensely emotional register. One of the first and best-loved films of this period in his career is The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, which balances a realistic depiction of tormented romance with staging that remains true to the director’s roots in experimental theater. This unforgettable, unforgiving dissection of the imbalanced relationship between a haughty fashion designer (Margit Carstensen) and a beautiful but icy ingenue (Hanna Schygulla)—based, in a sly gender reversal, on the writer-director’s own desperate obsession with a young actor—is a true Fassbinder affair, featuring exquisitely claustrophobic cinematography by Michael Ballhaus and full-throttle performances by an all-female cast.

Antonio das Mortes (Portuguese: O Dragão da Maldade contra o Santo Guerreiro, lit. “The Dragon of Wickedness Against the Holy Warrior”) is a 1969 Brazilian western film directed by Glauber Rocha. It is often cited as the last installment of Rocha’s film trilogy, preceded by Black God, White Devil and Entranced Earth. It features return of the character Antonio das Mortes, now as the protagonist, again played by Maurício do Valle. The original title is a reference to the tale of Saint George and the Dragon.

Rocha won the award for Best Director at the 1969 Cannes Film Festival.[2] It was chosen by the Ministry of Culture to represent Brazil in the 42nd Academy Awards, but was not nominated for Best Foreign Language Film.
