Do you read it and weep? Have a passion for a page-turner? Or just write your pants off? Whichever it is, bookmark this group to meet kindred spirits. We’re part book club, and part social gathering for lovers of words, brunch and good company. An Algonquin Round Table for Lisboa. Each fortnight a book is selected and we meet in a cool new venue to discuss. Afterwards those who write can stay for an hour of communal writing to practise the adage “The art of writing is the art of applying the seat of the pants to the seat of the chair.” After this, those who wish to receive feedback or discuss their ideas can do so among friends. Then those left standing retire to an esteemed local watering hole and do a Hemingway. All welcome.
