Lifestyle | Parador La Huella

Salty, sun-kissed dining on the beach in José Ignacio, we bury our toes in the powder-fine sand at Parador La Huella, a
local institution where the scent of wood-fired seafood mingles with the ocean breeze.

Lifestyle | Checking In: Posada Ayana

A rocky Uruguay peninsula turned chic summer destination, José Ignacio is the place to be in South America – and Posada Ayana is the ideal base.

Sailing | On Point : Sarissa

One yacht that first slipped into the waters very quietly a couple of years ago but has since made all the right sorts of noises is the sublime Sarissa – picking up a number of awards, in design, eco innovation and even as Superyacht of the Year.

We got the chance to run an exclusive on the yacht, catching up with Captain Iain Cook in the Mediterranean and a look into her design with naval architect Malcolm McKeon, before she moves onto South America and round the Horn.

Design | Estudio Ramos

Sailing, polo and design: three worlds united by their strong ties to nature.

Family-run architectural firm Estudio Ramos specialises in all of them, with projects such as a Yacht Club House in Tigre and Figueras Polo Stables in La Pampa, both in Argentina, along with their private residences in the Bahamas each reflecting the father-son studio’s renowned but hushed – and very much nature-led – approach.

Sailing | Revolutionary Rigging

Sailing has always been a green pursuit, harnessing the power of the ocean and wind: from the square-rigged commercial deliveries of salt and cod in the 18th-century to the sailing Superyachts of today

DynaRig insiders and the Captain of Superyacht Black Pearl, one of its successful adopters, discuss the full, powerful potential of the innovative sailing-yacht rigging system.

Travel | Islas Secas

Known to some as the Lost Coast, Panama’s Gulf of
Chiriquí remains a wild stretch of Central America’s
eastern tropical Pacific.

A landscape of dozens of islands sewn from ancient volcanoes and some of the richest virgin coastal rainforest
in the region, it’s a world unto its own, thanks to its isolated position and topography unfazed by El Niño’s colder winds.

Sailing | The Rule Of Aragon

For our latest issue, the journey began in St Barths 12 months ago, where we met with Karin van Leeuwen, the owner of Aragon, and where we sit again today. Back then, Karin and I were discussing TIDE ideas we could work on together; soon after, once her next itinerary was set, Karin called.

“We’re sailing from New Zealand straight to Patagonia,” she shared. “Can you join us as we hit the coast?” It was an easy “Yes!” – and a call that set the tone for magazine’s South American adventure.

We share this extract from our latest issue, highlighting Karin’s inspiring contribution, in tribute to her father’s legacy. Fair winds and Rest in Peace, Hein van Leeuwen.

Travel | Bawah Reserve

Before we sail off to South America within the pages of our next issue, we take a change of pace and region – we sail the Pacific archipelago and visit Bawah Reserve, an eco- destination tucked away within Indonesia’s Anambas Islands Regency.

The retreat sits on a 1,000-hectare marine conservation area, draped across six different islands, offering the height of comfort in what feels like the middle of nowhere – just the way we like it.

Environment | A Letter From Noway

With more and more yacht owners heading north to Norway, we explore how the country is managing to both welcome yachts to its thousands of unique, ancient fjords - and keep them looking entirely untouched.
