When the unstoppable force of rapidly developing technology meets the immovable object of an enterprise's inability/resistance to change, the latter usually wins.
Just look at any report on the state of AI in the enterprise, and you will see plenty of evidence of this playing out right now.
AI to an existing process does not make it 'intelligent'; just adding email to a process does not make it 'digital'. The process needs to be fundamentally reimagined to benefit from current and future developments in AI.
Fundamentally reimagining enterprise processes to benefit from 'Actual' and 'Artificial' Intelligence will require overcoming potentially unforeseen resistance to change from enterprises, and it will be a multi-year endeavor
