At South Shore, we’re proud to say that all of our shows are ALBERT certified and, as ‘Cooking With The Stars’ returns to our screens for a 3rd series, we wanted to highlight some of the ways in which the production aimed to be as sustainable as possible:
• reduced single use bottles and cups
• sourced sustainable suppliers
• used rechargeable batteries where possible
• eliminated single use crockery & cutlery
• encouraged teams to eat more sustainably & introduced a ‘meat-free’ day during studio filming
• recycled used cooking oil through Quatra who turn waste into sustainable biofuel
• operated a ‘No Red Meat’ policy - the consumption of red meat being such a huge contributor towards worldwide greenhouse gas emissions
But our biggest achievement was the amount of food waste we managed to contribute to well deserving charities and organizations. With the help of our good friends at Versa London Studios, throughout the month of April we donated 384kg of food to The Felix Project which otherwise would have gone to landfill.
South Shore are extremely proud of ‘Cooking With The Stars’- as a production and for the many ways in which it has strived to become more sustainable. We congratulate the whole team for all their hard work & effort!

South Shore Productions are looking for a Welfare Producer for a new prime time BBC series
We are looking for a producer with experience managing young contributors aged 16 plus. The role involves working closely with the SP, PM and Welfare Team so excellent communication skills are essential along with immaculate record keeping and notes. We are looking for someone to help with development of our Duty Of Care Protocols and to help further develop excellent relationships with both the contributors and their parents / guardians. Previous experience of dealing with complex compliance is essential and experience of filming abroad would be beneficial. You would be running a welfare team in the lead up to and during the foreign shoot, so we are looking for someone with experience of managing a team, liaising with the production psych and helping with cast / crew briefings.
Dates: Full time from late February with ad hoc days in Jan
- Full time on location throughout March
- Ad hoc dates to be agreed for after care
