I am absolutely humbled/stunned/shocked/flabbergasted/delighted/proud that I have once again been shortlisted for a prestigious … the Oscars of the voiceover world if you will.

I’m nominated in the ‘Continuity – Best Overall Performance’ category for my work on BBC One BBC Cymru Wales I am absolutely chuffed but am up against a lot of very talented people, all of whom I would like to congratulate.

I would also like to point out that no Matt Tebbutt’s were harmed in the making of this announcement (he is shockingly handsome for both television and radio)

Last year I left my comfort zone and embarked on a terrifying new challenge as an Announcer/Director with BBC Wales. Not only do I have to write my own scripts and talk live on the telly (with multiple counts happening in my ear), but now I also push all the buttons! I know most people think telly just happens, but it involves split-second decisions, talking to time and praying you can hit the network on time. Whilst I know it won't mean a lot to most of you, but I got to do the BBC News countdown twice this week ... which is quite the achievement ... 2 seconds and 20 frames after London! I suppose it's the equivalent of spinning plates whilst juggling and fire-eating all at the same time

A year after starting I have finally finished this audiobook by the fabulous Peter Dickson . I still find it astonishing how our careers have crossed many years apart. From BBC Northern Ireland to Radio 1 & 2 and even E4. When I grow up I'd love to be half as successful as him! By the way ... The book is ruddy hilarious, made even better by Peter reading it himself. If you're in the business or thinking of getting into it, I can highly recommend it! 5*

On this very day 10 (TEN!!!) years ago Greg James and Producer were live on BBC Radio 1 and I was live on Channel 4 and we decided to cause trouble ... the result? Live, interactive, cross-channel broadcasting at its very best (I've literally no idea why I was putting on a posh voice) Here's what went out on Radio 1, there is a video somewhere, but can I find it? Don't be silly! MERRY CHRISTMAS x
