My son got completely obsessed with this little garden in the flower garden at Greenwich Park. I'm not sure what caught his imagination but he was extremely insistent that I take the photo.

Obviously he's never looked at it again, but I wonder what made it so special?

I love how kids experience the world so strongly, and go deeply into things the rest of us ignore.

As a shy child and teen, I took refuge in books. There, I could start to understand how people lived, get to know different ideas and places and people. There is so much knowledge that I have just because I read it in a fiction book!

Honestly I think reading and stories make us so much broader people, we are more empathetic, we can understand that people think and experience life differently to us in a different way to watching film or tv; in a story you are inside the person's head.

Stories are a safe place to explore and learn. Stories are a refuge, a classroom, are an adventure. They teach us to be brave and fight the monsters within.

And we'd love you and your family to listen to ours. Our heroes are normal children who solve problems, make mistakes, summon their courage and do their best.

They're helping monsters, fighting bullies, solving mysteries and protecting the people who need it.

And they're absolutely full of fun, and read by my wonderful mum.

What story would you tell about this lighthouse?

Research shows that kids who listen to a podcast really often then go and do an activity based on what they have heard. Play a game, or draw a picture, or imagine their own version.

That's why we always have a few questions when the story is over, to ignite their play and imagination.

I'd love to hear any ideas anyone has about this...

Some of the most magical words... they lead us into an imaginary space where anything could happen.

Not that I ever use them in my stories! Perhaps I should...

Bring moments of calm to your half term whilst boosting your kids imagination and expanding their vocabulary... and taking them to this amazing imaginary world, all by listening to our original story podcast!

The Story Forest is available on all podcast providers, and quite a lot of parents like listening too.

Even some grandparents.

When you're asked for a Minecraft cherry blossom orchard filled with Pokemon birthday cake... turns out it's quite difficult to get a good picture of it.

The kids reaction was well worth it though, Kezia was lost for words. And then when we lit the firework thing in the TNT? Will was quite worried but they liked it in the end!

Kids really push your imagination... but trees from matchmakers and candy floss was a really good idea I think!

What story would you tell about this picture?

My granny had this in her house and I always loved it, and now I have my own print. I love her ridiculous dress for walking, her air of kind of being caught by surprise.

All my favourite pictures look like they have a story hidden in there somewhere, and I love letting it spark my imagination.

Maybe I'll write about her some day!

I think it's called Diana of the Uplands. My Granny was called Diana too!

I used AI to make images for the latest Story Forest series, and it was super useful in lots of ways. I'm not great at visualising things in my head, so it helped me in that way, and obviously they're a lot more accomplished than I can draw myself.

There were two images, though, that I just couldn't get AI to draw how I wanted, despite lots of different word combinations.

One was that I wanted water coming up out of the book in the fountain - like knowledge spurting out. I think one picture almost achieved this, but there was something else very weird in there.

The funny one is that I wanted a picture of a robot who was missing it's head, because that is what happens in the story. But try as I might, AI would just NOT give me a headless robot.

Which I thought was kind of funny.

Anyway. I'm really pleased with the series: it's full of mystery and hidden passageways and secrets and clues. You and your kids can listen on all podcast providers!

I took this picture so recently and yet I already can't imagine having this much light! Trying to really embrace cosy evenings though. Somehow after 36 years I've finally realised that the really dark days peak at this time and don't last all winter... trying to embrace the time!

This blanket I bought because it just reminded me so strongly of The Story Forest and I thought we had to have it. Happily it's very cosy too!

Our Story Forest fan friends named it the Forest Mermaid Librarian blanket.

For moments of cosy calm this week, whether the kids are back at school or not, dive into some Story Forest episodes, full of magic and adventure!

Possibly my favourite artwork I've ever done for a series!!

Listen to what is probably our scariest (and definitely coldest) series, The Fentons Face the Frost. The four Fenton siblings are thrust into a battle against ancient magic when the Lord and Lady of the Frost threaten to make winter reign over their village for fifty years!

Will they be able to solve the clues and stop the magic?
