Once again, we witnessed disgraceful refereeing decisions going against us. Arsenal were handed 25 fouls, with United picking up 4 yellow cards and 1 red, while Arsenal were only called for 10 fouls with just 2 yellows. This bias reached its peak with Bruno Fernandes being unfairly booked for voicing frustration after the referee blatantly ignored Arsenal players jumping on United players.
The penalty awarded to Arsenal was a new lowβeasily one of the most absurd decisions in football history. Arsenal players constantly rolled on the pitch like they'd been hit by an RPG, solely to draw cards for United players, and the referee played along as if he were Arsenal's 12th man.
But justice prevailedβwe fought with 10 men for an hour, and one player stepped up to become the hero of the match. Altay Bayindir, who many doubted (including myself), rose to the occasion. His penalty save was the turning point, igniting a heroic performance and marking the true start of his United career.
The entire squad fought tirelessly, showing heart and unity to secure our place in the next round, where weβll welcome Ruud van Nistelrooy and his Leicester City team to Old Trafford.
Letβs go, United! π΄β«
