✴️It's Good To Know 🌞🌟‼️
“Gravitational waves are ripples in spacetime. When objects move, the curvature of spacetime changes and these changes move outwards (like ripples on a pond) as gravitational waves. A gravitational wave is a stretch and squash of space and so can be found by measuring the change in length between two objects.”

👉DETERMINATION ✴️
Ethel “Sunny” Lowry was born in Longsight in 1911. Her dad was a fish wholesaler and she was a 2nd cousin of the artist, LS Lowry.
From an early age, she loved swimming. She would swim regularly at Victoria Baths and Levenshulme Baths. She went to Manchester High School for Girls. The school thought that Sunny was rather too much focused on swimming. Sunny later said: "The headmistress was a rather stern woman and she looked at me from over her half-moon glasses and said 'Lowry, what is your ambition?' I replied immediately, 'To swim the Channel' and she said, without another word, 'Dismissed!'."
By her late teens, Sunny had developed into a strong distance swimmer. She took advantage of family holidays to swim the length of Windermere and along stretches of the North Wales coast. She often liked to wear a two-piece costume, which was very daring for those days. On more than one occasion she said she was "branded a harlot for daring to bare her knees".
She entered an X-Factor style competition in which the winner got to be trained by a top team for a cross-Channel swim. Out of 300 applicants, Sunny was chosen. So, in 1933, at the age of 22, she caught a train from Manchester down to the south coast to begin rigorous training. Her trainer was tough - the first thing he said to her was "'If you say the water's cold, you may as well get off home".
On her first attempt to swim the Channel, she was defeated by strong currents. She tried again the next day, and got to within sight of the French coast. But then a storm blew up. It grew so wild and dark, the team boat completely lost sight of her. She was only spotted when one of the crew caught a glimpse of her swimming cap during a flash of lightning. So that attempt was abandoned as well. After two failed attempts, the team considered giving up, but Sunny said she really wanted to give it one last go.
She set off again, this time from the French side. It was in the small hours of the morning and was still dark. As usual, she had to be covered in grease to protect from the cold. In preparation, she'd been eating up to 40 eggs a week (mostly in omelettes) and pushed up her weight to 14st 7lb, because it was predicted that she would lose a pound for every hour in the sea.
During the swim, she ate nothing, but paused now and again to drink coffee, cocoa and beef tea, which she swigged from a medicine bottle dangled over the side of the es**rt boat.
After swimming for 15 hours 41 minutes, she finally emerged from a rough sea, and crawled up the beach at St Margaret's Bay, near Dover. Her face and neck were swollen with jellyfish bites, and her lips were cracked and blue. She was exhausted. But she'd made it.
She thus became the 6th woman to swim the Channel and the 3rd British woman ever to do so.
After her successful swim, Sunny returned to Manchester and was she greeted by cheering crowds at Central Station. She accepted that her moment in the limelight would not last and she dedicated her life to teaching swimming. She later married and her husband, Bill, was also a swimming teacher.
She was later awarded an MBE. Sunny was described as a wonderful, gentle, kind lady. Her great niece said: "She was as fit as a fiddle, as sharp as ninepence, and she kept on swimming well into her 90s".
Sunny died, aged 97, in 2008.
Rest in God's Love Sunny 🕯️🙏❤️

✨This drawing is by Anja Rozen, a 13-year-old primary school student in Slovenia. She was chosen from 600,000 children around the world to create a piece of art to show what peace looks like.

She is the winner of the international Plakat Miru competition.
"My drawing represents the land that binds us and unites us."

"Humans are woven together. If someone gives up, others fall. We are all connected to our planet and to each other, but unfortunately we are little aware of it. We are woven together. Other people weave alongside me my own story; and I weave theirs," said the young designer....... FORUM TIME and WOW-FORUM is honoured to welcome so many brilliant Children and Teenagers.

😁Puddles! Snowflakes! Raindrops! Mud and Sand!!! The Simple Joys of Childhood and Kid’s Education 😋
WOW-FORUM has created many great fun projects for engaging with the Little League, their siblings and parents, with many outdoor attractions. The Great Outdoors is blessed with a range of non-manmade bio environments where the whole family can enjoy free and easy outdoor play and discovery. Beachcombing, hiking through the woods or forest, cycling, and meandering through the different parks, walks, and reserves, to name a few. In the UK there are often restrictions to comply with, whether this is for safety or conservation reasons. For example, only being able to climb trees within a specific setting under guidance or having to stick to designated pathways. Compliance aside, this need not deter us from engaging with our environment in a meaningful, fun and refreshing way. Tasting a snowflake on the tip of our tongue might not be on the agenda for the grownups or allowing our children to feel the rain on their faces, jump in a puddle or let the sand slip between their toes is. I am not wrong in saying that every town, city, or village, has a wealth of incredible places to visit that are natural “outdoor classrooms” for our children. Let’s make the most of them and the many opportunities for positive health and learning they provide🌞💚😊

KAHLIL GIBRAN❤️🖋️❤️

He was called "filthy" because his skin was dark, unintelligible because he could barely speak English. When he arrived in this country, he was placed in a special class for immigrants. But, a few of his teachers saw something in the way he expressed himself, through his drawings, through his view of the world. He would soon master his new language.
His mother had made a difficult decision to take him, his two younger sisters and a half-brother to America, seeking a better life for their family. They settled in Boston's South End, at the time the second-largest Syrian-Lebanese-American community. The family would struggle and the young boy would lose one sister and his half-brother to tuberculosis. His mother would die of cancer.
He would write, “Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.”
He was born in poverty on January 6, 1883 in what is now modern day Lebanon.
He believed in love, he believed in peace, and he believed in understanding.
His name was Kahlil Gibran, and he is primarily known for his book, "The Prophet." The book, published in 1923, would sell tens of millions of copies, making him the third best-selling poet of all time, behind Shakespeare and Laozi.
Published in 108 languages around the world, passages from "The Prophet" are quoted at weddings, in political speeches and at funerals, inspiring influential figures such as John F. Kennedy, Indira Gandhi, Elvis Presley, John Lennon, and David Bowie.
He was very outspoken, attacking hypocrisy and corruption. His books were burned in Beirut, and in America, he would receive death threats.
Gibran was the only member of his family to pursue scholastic education. His sisters were not allowed to enter school, primarily because of Middle Eastern traditions as well as financial difficulties. Gibran, however, was inspired by the strength of the women in his family, especially his mother. After one sister, his mother, and his half-brother died, his other sister, Mariana would support Gibran and herself by working at a dressmaker's shop.
Of his mother, he would write:
"The most beautiful word on the lips of mankind is the word 'Mother,' and the most beautiful call is the call of 'My mother.' It is a word full of hope and love, a sweet and kind word coming from the depths of the heart. The mother is everything – she is our consolation in sorrow, our hope in misery, and our strength in weakness. She is the source of love, mercy, sympathy, and forgiveness."
Gibran would later champion the cause of women’s emancipation and education.
He believed that “Safeguarding the rights of others is the most noble and beautiful end of a human being.”
In a poem to new immigrants, he would write, "I believe you can say to the founders of this great nation. 'Here I am. A youth. A young tree. Whose roots were plucked from the hills of Lebanon. Yet I am deeply rooted here. And I would be fruitful.'"
He would write in "The Prophet":
“Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.”🙏💜💜💜

We Are Custodians of The Planet Earth.

The Earth does not belong to the human species; the human species belongs to the Planet Earth, a beautiful living and breathing planet one of many suspended and spinning in the dark space of the Universe. Our extraordinary, uniquely beautiful and generous Planet Earth is a common habitat of more than 7 billion humans and millions of other species. Our Mother Earth provides us generously with food, shelter much-needed water and so many Earth treasures for us to thrive, grow and develop. Despite the generosity of so many Free Gifts provided by the earth to humans, we are not able to pay off her kindness with simple gestures of gratitude, kindness and love. Instead, human cruelty, greed and the distractive nature give rise to a catastrophic situation in our ecosystems.

Mahatma Gandhi said, “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.” Due to pollution, we have harmed the Earth’s Lungs and the Heart.

Calling on The Global Community of Youth and Children, the well-known activists, environmentalists, revolutionaries, and celebrities, to share their support, thoughts, practical advice for living a more sustainable lifestyle, ideas and tools for building resilient and more importantly, better-educated communities. We come together in many innovative global and local actions, guided by dedicated experts, seeking solutions for how to face the biggest problems of today. Youth and Children are dedicated and interested in creating real and tangible change, and so, we work hard to bring back Hope and share inspirational and meaningful information needed for everyone to become a part of bringing in the much-needed transformation by making our planet a better, happier, healthier and safer place for all future generations.

💜🐾👣Smoky was a 4 lb, 7 inch tall, Yorkshire Terrier who served in World War II. In 1944 Smoky was found in a foxhole in the jungles of New Guinea by an American soldier who brought her back to camp and sold her to Corporal William A. Wynne for $6.44. For the next 2 years Smoky lived a soldiers life. Because she was not an official military dog, she did not get dog food or medical care. She shared Wynne’s meals and slept beside him in his tent.
The little dog even flew 12 air/sea rescue and photo reconnaissance missions, secured in the soldiers backpack. She survived 150 air raids and saved Wynne by warning him of incoming shells. Like many Yorkies, Smoky also loved to learn tricks and perform. She did so with the Special Services – entertaining soldiers in hospitals. After the war Smoky was flown back to the US hidden in a oxygen mask carrying case.
For the next 10 years she made television and public appearances in Veterans hospitals until her death in 1957. Smoky is considered the first Therapy Dog Also read this
