Hi all, just a lil update cos we've been quiet for the past few months...

It has been insanely up & down for us over the last few months - a map of our anxieties would produce something akin to an earthquake reading I think but this is something we all have to weather at certain points in our lives.

Social media in general has been as erratic with some really low points that have contributed to my leaving it alone for a while, considering packing it up altogether many, many times.

But we're still here with a healthy booklist and with plans for future titles. Thank you to everybody who has supported - I was honestly nervous about reopening this IG account. I have a few messages to go through still and my sincere apologies for any delay.

Summertime has hit London in a good way, so if you are around town enjoy it while it lasts. If you are from a part of the world where sun is common, then maintain and do you lol. If none of the above apply, a new book or graphic novel is a cert to fix your mood!

I haven't posted in a lil' bit, but that's to be expected right?

We are currently preparing to stock our little shelves with more titles, we will announce these once finalised. All books are in stock, but some are dangerously low in stock.

We are also preparing for a few book productions this year, the main topic being male mental health which is an often overlooked topic and one not really in the public sphere. As somebody who has his fair share of anxiety throughout the years, I feel that this is a topic that needs to be documented somehow, even just to raise awareness.

If you are suffering from anxiety or depression, regardless of gender, cultural background etc, it is vital to keep it in check by honest self evaluation and via a trusted confidant. Suffering ain't the one if you're on your own, so by whatever means - and taking into account that you are deserving of the same happiness you see around you - consider sharing your thoughts to people you can trust.

Also stop scrolling down these feeds for too long. I keep on saying this, dang it!

Hi, my name's Danny and this is the A Tree In Bani IG.

Firstly, I am notoriously bad at social media. This as many of you already know is well documented here, so this post right here is an attempt at doing consistent posty-online things.

Secondly and more importantly, we are an online store and official distributor to many great books whose creators have filipino lineage. We also occasiinally publish our own titles under A Tree In Bani. We are based in London, UK and we ship to the UK, the EU and to the US.

What started as an individual project, a life-long ambition to complete a novel during the pandemic has turned into a voyage of discovery. Over the past few years we have met with and have ennoyed the company of many creators, wroters, artists and illustrators as well as behind the scenes producers and publishers who all have this one objective in mind: to promote their local talents and give these guy and gals a larger audience.

Being from Filipino descent, I have naturally gravitated to this cause, but hopefully and with a little bit of encouragement this will expand as the company continues growing.

To my longer standing followers and customers, I will be releasing the new novel in 2024. I know I've been hinting at it for at least 6 months now, but as the company has gone through its changes, so has my workload and my commitment to A Tree In Bani. As a company created during the pandemic, it has been vital to change with the times and so we have naturally branched out. The new stuff is coming, so please stay tuned!
