Ad | Dezeen and SketchUp's (@SketchUp) Design Workshops video series launches today with a workshop delivered by Julien Sebban, founder of Parisian design studio Uchronia.
Across the video series, leading designers describe how they created interior environments commissioned especially for the workshops.
During the first workshop, Sebban describes how he used SketchUp's design software to create a fictional 1970s-inspired bar characterised by soft edges and curvaceous forms.
SketchUp is 3D design software used to model architectural and interior design projects, product designs, civil and mechanical engineering and more. It is owned by construction technology company Trimble.

Ad | Earlier this year Dezeen and Bentley launched the Start Something Powerful Competition - a global contest that called for pioneering proposals that could have a powerful impact on how people live over the next 100 years.
The winners are in. First place has been awarded to South Korean designer Hanju Seo with his EarthCode project (@earthcode.io), a tree identification system for carbon tracking. By blending AI with traditional tree identification methods, Seo's handheld scanner creates unique "Bark-Codes," making carbon credit verification more accurate and secure.
Second place was awarded to Rehan Petit's Bio-Fender proposal to cleanup oil spill using repurposed boat bumpers, while Matthew Pratt's subterranean desert sanctuaries won third place.

Ad | Acoustics brand Autex Acoustics showcased its latest product innovations during this year's London Design Festival, including its soon-to-be-released SpinFix range.
The SpinFix attachments use leftover industrial "waste" PET plastic and converts it into a new material, which Autex named RePET.
This new material is then used to craft the SpinFix product accessories.
Dezeen and Autex also hosted a talk on innovative approaches in product design during London Design Festival.
The panel was made up of Jan Hendzel, founder of Jan Hendzel Studio, Megan Dobstaff, design director at Gensler, and Jonty Brown, consultant for Autex Acoustics.
