So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him, saying, “What do you want Me to do for you?”

He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.”

And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Our need of provisions has to be transformed into our need of God. If we want provision, there is only one Person that could provide that for us, and that is Jesus.

In 2 Samuel 12, we find out that Bathsheba’s pregnancy did not end well. Although she went to full term and successfully gave birth, “the Lord struck the child that Uriah’s wife bore to David, and it became so ill” it died.

This, of course, caused Bathsheba to become so grief-stricken that David comforted her. Bathsheba then went on to conceive and bear a son, named Solomon, whom God later chose to be king after David--and Jesus, a descendant of David.

Well, while Bathsheba grieved the loss of her first-born son, she could not have known what his life and the life of her second son would mean in the grand scheme of things.

It can be the same for us. While we are going through loss it can be hard to find the glory in our tribulation or keep believing God’s word. We are so used to hearing about the God that bestows blessing that we forget that He also has the power and authority to take away at will.

This is where faith comes in though. Faith is not the refusal to acknowledge the pain of closed doors, but the belief that if God is allowing you to experience it, it is for a purpose- just as it turned out to be for Bathsheba. Faith bridges the gap between fresh pain and hindsight’s stoic logic. The question is, are you willing to cross it and persevere as Bathsheba did? One thing’s for sure- you won’t birth your promise or purpose if you don’t.

Jael is one of those women of the Bible who we don’t get a lot of details or background on.

If you asked most people to think of a warrior woman mentioned in Judges 4 and 5, most minds would go straight to Deborah. However, she is not the only woman of valour detailed in this particular part of the Bible. There is another and her name is Jael.

Jael’s life reveals a series of lessons, the first of which is that God will always fulfil His word. It may not be in line with our idea of perfect timing, however He “is not a man that He should lie;" His word does not return to Him void but accomplishes what He pleases.

The prospect of a woman being able to kill an experienced commander of an army was a strange one. Yet this is exactly what happened. As such, Jael shows us that God will use absolutely anybody to bring His will about.

God chooses imperfect people to be conduits of His will so that He can extend His grace to them and display His glory through them. He sees our potential in Him, which is why it is important that we don’t disqualify ourselves from going towards the things that we know that He has called us be, do or have.

The story of Achsah can be found in both Joshua 15:16-19 and Judges 1:12-15.

Caleb was unwavering in his faith at the time because he believed God’s promise and recognised that land was his birthright and inheritance. Achsah was audacious with her requests because she knew the same thing- that land was now her inheritance and birthright as one of Caleb’s descendants,

Audacious or not, Achsah made her request to her father, Caleb, and received what she desired.

Matthew 7:11 then goes on to say that if an earthly father could provide for their child as freely and extravagantly as Caleb did Achsah, “how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” God is able to do “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think”.

Therefore, take Achsah’s example and be audacious in and with your prayer requests. Because God is able and willing to work on our behalf. Always go back to your identity. With God and only through God, claim what He has promised you.

02/03/2022

There is truth in saying, “love is a choice” or “love is a decision.” It is true that if you don’t feel like doing good to your neighbor, love will incline you to “choose” to do it anyway.
If you shrink back from the pain of nails being driven through your hands, love will incline you to say, “Not my will but yours be done.” That’s the truth I hear in the statement “love is a choice” or “love is a decision.”
The good news is that the God of heaven and earth is passionately pursuing you right now. No matter how close you "feel" or "think" you are to him, God is pursuing you every day in a love relationship that is personal and real. He desires your heart, strength, soul and mind – all of you.
How you respond to the passionate pursuit of God is totally up to you. There is grace for you today to seek the face of your heavenly Father. There is grace to open up your heart and accept the wonderful gift of encountering God’s presence. There is grace to know and experience the depths of God’s love for you. The question before you is simply this: will you choose today to let God love you?

We all know that we should love each other, but Paul's instruction is that our love must be genuine or sincere. In other words, Christians are not called to fake an attitude of love for each other, but to find ways to express God's love meaningfully, as an extension of God's love for us and ours for Him.

Proverbs 6:16–19 describes seven things God hates, using the equivalent Hebrew term. None of these hated things are people; all of them are sin. Christians, too, are called to learn to hate what is evil, meaning sin. Hating evil, especially the sins that intrigue us, does not always come naturally.

it can sometimes be hard to know what is truly good. We must learn to see the world through God's perspective, to deeply invest our time and energy in securing and keeping what is truly "good."

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
