Classical Music for Modern Life

Scala Radio is a brand-new entertainment radio station that breaks the mould of classical music in the UK. Alongside familiar masters from Mozart and Holst, you can expect to hear contemporary works including film, TV and video game scores, musicals and classical arrangements of pop and rock songs. Discover Justin Timberlake’s ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ performed by the Vitamin String Quartet or Heart of Philip Glass, a mash-up of Heart of Glass and the second movement of Philip Glass’ Violin Concerto.

Scala Radio’s presenter line- up includes award-winning broadcaster Simon Mayo who takes over Monday to Saturday mid mornings with his new entertainment show featuring celebrity interviews.

Angellica Bell kick starts the weekend with 'Angellica's Music Lesson Diaries' where she encourages others of all ages who are learning an instrument as she takes her own cello lessons.

Mark Kermode presents a range of familiar film scores, new releases and more eclectic discoveries on Saturdays from 1-3pm.
