Work with someone who is going to eat, sleep and breathe your brand.
As a social media strategist I have to wear many hats. I have to literally switch to be a completely different part of a completely different company, brand and team – for every single client I work with.
I have to eat, sleep and breathe their brand values, and ethos. I have to learn fast about their company, their products, and to some degree become an ‘expert’ in their field. And it is actually one of the things I love most about the work I do.
I work hand in hand with each of my clients to ensure their social media, websites, and any branding I work on has PURPOSE. It is not just about pretty pictures and pretty branding swooshing across the wild web. I have to communicate value. Talking, sharing, explaining, educating viewers about the business I am representing. Creatively strategizing ways of connecting and sometimes giving back. This requires a ton of research, creativity and thought. And this requires a team mentality and team input at times.
Make sure when you hire someone to represent your brand on social media, they are willing to do no less.
