UP FOR AUCTION: A 1957 Series One 4x2 and a 1969 Series IIA 88in are coming up for sale at an auction taking place at Ascot Racecourse on March 01, 2025. Commenting on the Series One, Stewart Banks of Historics Auctioneers said: “This 1957 Series One is hugely collectible, coming to sale for the first time in 40 years and in storage for 30 of them. And of course it’s a very rare two-wheel drive model developed for the British Army."
On the Series IIA, Stewart said: : “We are privileged to bring this restored example to sale after 50 years in Kenya, thanks to its British Army custodian who clearly appreciated the significance of these venerable classics. It's full of character and, to many, it represents the golden age of Land Rover.”

Series stuff on a Sunday with the Yorkshire LROC: breakfast and greenlaning in Last of the Summer Wine country near Holmfirth. Tom Benson, one of the organisers said, “It’s mad that a regular Land Rover club organised a coffee meet and greenlaning and there wasn’t a single coil sprung Land Rover in the convoy!”

Thames Valley Police said the theft happened between 3pm on January 27 and 9am the next day. Anybody with information is asked to contact the force.

Philip Nash says the model is a reminder of his father, who built it shortly before his death.
