❄️ I don’t know about where you are, but the weekend’s storm has left behind a bitter wind here; a biting sting in its tail. Suddenly, all the leaves are gone, and it looks decidedly desolate and wintry outside. The spindly trees lie bare, as silhouettes against a blank canvas.

✨ This is the time to get cosy, to hunker down, to take our cue from nature, and to seek those pockets of dormancy and renewal, that we might feel refreshed and recharged for the seasons to come.

You may or may not know that I have a thing for cheesy romance novels! The cheesier the better! 😅 I don’t even care that by the second page I know exactly what’s going to happen! 😂

Recently (and currently) I’ve been enjoying reading lots of Christmas themed books. They’re just perfect for reading on a cold winter’s night, while snuggled up under a cosy blanket, mug of hot chocolate in hand, and fairy lights twinkling in the background. 😍 To be honest, I’ve been enjoying them that much, I’ve been devouring them while eating my breakfast, cooking tea, and inbetween jobs! 😅 I can’t get enough of them!

… So I thought I’d share a few of the ones I’ve been reading, just in case you fancy a Christmassy, feel-good, cheesy romance novel this Christmas. 😊❤️

Although not a romance novel, I did recently purchase A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens for 23p on my Kindle! I’ve never actually read the book before. 🙈 I’ve already started it, and it’s wonderful to finally read it, rather than just watching one of my most favourite Christmas films ever, The Muppet Christmas Carol! 😅🎄

I hope you’re staying warm, cosy, and safe indoors. Beyond our garden fence, the tall trees are swaying in every direction. I’m sitting in our little conservatory, watching them and admiring the craftsmanship of the large crow’s nest nestled among the branches. Despite the strong winds tossing it about, not a single branch has given way. 🪹

With the weather too wet and rough to venture outside, we tackled some extra early spring cleaning indoors instead. 😅 To treat ourselves afterward, we’ve got a couple of pizzas and some wedges ready for the oven! 😋🍕

I love robins. 🥰❤️ We’ve currently got a sweet little one who comes to visit our garden, and it’s such a joy to watch him hopping about. They’re such lovely, friendly, inquisitive, and knowing little birds.

This year, I’ve really enjoyed diving into more nature-inspired books. It’s been amazing to learn lots more about the natural world, hear others’ experiences with rewilding, and pick up valuable tips for inviting and caring for nature. Plus, I’m all for embracing natural remedies, and learning all about how different plants and herbs can help to heal our bodies. 😊🌿🌸

I really wanted to share them all, but have narrowed it down to just 5 for today’s post! 😅 It was so hard to choose, but then it just means that I can share the rest in future posts too.
