Original Bands Showcase The Original Bands Showcase......celebrates showcasing unsigned bands annually since 2004 - 2016 Looking for bands from the Midlands area only.

Back in 2015 for its 11th year........ showcasing for over a decade
The Original Bands Showcase is set up for unsigned Bands and Artists of all genres. This Independent Music Event that takes place annually in Leicester. The first OBS was back in 2004 Its main aim is to give a platform for local live bands and an opportunity to increase exposure and fan base under the umbrella of a series of orga

nised well supported nights of live music It has now become an established credible event on the Live Music Calendar

Working closely with local businesses and Festivals it offers again, a nice package of prizes for the Finalists This years winner will play Simon Says Festival, Main support @ Riverside Festival and Headline Western Park Festival . Also a 2 Day Recording Package at the prestigious Yellow Bean Studios and £400 cash. There will also be more slots at all 3 festivals allocated and we are pleased to be this year, selecting the full line up for Western Park Festival. This year to involve out of town bands more we will feature a chosen "guest band" on most of the preliminary nights and at the end invite 1 back to play at a semi final night. Against the somewhat murky reputation of botb's this showcase has gained a reputation that sets it apart and actually delivers what it promises

Dates for the 3rd obsUnplugged have been finalised and commence 2nd Jan for 2 weeks with this years finale scheduled for Sat 2nd Feb. All Acoustic Acts should apply now for consideration. The often described "marmite" band and one of, on a personal level, the most exciting bands I have seen in the 11 years I have been running the event.
They are not and never will be everyone's cup of tea but they are pushing boundaries and are truly a talented bunch of youngsters who have an interesting and bright musical future. I will continue to watch and enjoy their musical journey.

Ash Mammal are a dynamic, theatrical and exciting band from Leicester. Churning out varied songs that take influence from a huge range of genres. A bright blend of aggressive rock noodled with catchy guitar riffs and a dirty groove.
"An exercise in punkish unpredictability and a performance so theatrical, so full of outlandish art that it leaves your jaw in a permanent state of drop"

Final of the seven heats saw The Musician play host to four widely diverse, yet talented outfits. Matchstick Men, The Della Grants, Ash Mammal and Tapestry vied for the final heat semi final places.
Della Grants and Tapestry went through to the semis and both Ash Mammal and Matchstick Men secured the remaining Call Back slots.
