February hit our household like a rogue Bludger! 🌪️

First the kids fell ill, with 3 days off school between them, then I caught their bug too!

If Madam Pomfrey had seen me, she'd have kept me in the hospital wing for TWO WEEKS. 🤒

Trying to keep on top of work has been hard, and I've disappeared from social media at times.

Part of me didn't want to share that because I feel like a hypocrite.

Standing in a room full of amazing, talented women, I had this magical feeling come over me: I am SO excited for the future! 😍

I’ve been so lucky to be invited to speak at some fabulous networking groups lately, my favourite being for the incredible Connect Ladies in Wakefield and Leeds.

Honestly, the support I’ve received from these incredible women has been nothing short of enchanting. 🧙‍♀️

As a business owner, a mum, and a woman, it can sometimes feel like you’re flying solo on this journey.

And that is hard to handle, you have to constantly dust yourself off and try again – the feeling that maybe it would be better to ‘give up’ is always lingering somewhere in the background.

But then there are the moments when I’m surrounded by the kind of women who light up the room with their energy and kindness—and that is the magic I need to keep going.

From the ladies I’ve worked with to those who’ve sent me messages or come up to me after talks—your support has been the spark that’s kept me going.

While I was away last week I found myself thinking a lot about work, more specifically sales. And I didn't like it.

As a business owner it feels like there are never enough sales, and making more is always at the front of my mind.

But that also feels uncomfortable for me, like it's missing the point of what I want to do with my life.

I once saw a marketing company claim that businesses should be using 5 to 10 social media platforms… Absolutely bonkers! 🤯

The more reasonable advice is 3 or 4, but even that feels like trying to juggle a cauldron full of potions without spilling them - Especially when you’ve already got enough on your plate.

As we speed towards half-term and a much needed break, I wanted to send a little reminder that the things you do next week don't have to be 'picture-perfect'.

The photos you see on social media are not the full story of what is going on in everyone else's lives, you don't have to compete!

When life feels like a battle, it's easy to get caught up in the idea that everyone else is doing better, creating more success, and managing perfectly fine...

Especially when we’re scrolling through a timeline of posts and even writing that has been set-up, meticulously planned and even computer-generated.

But the truth is, running a business while you're raising a family isn't perfect, it's a mess of choas and fun.

Take these photos from the summer, for example.

They're the build-up to a beautiful picture that I used in a post at the time about 'seeing over the wall' to your future (the last one shown here).

I didn't use rest of them because, well, I look like a t*t!

But I'm sharing them today because, actually, they're real life and they are evidence of a lovely moment James and I had together playing on the harbour wall. 😍

When you spend so much time online, seeing everyone else's apparent success can mess with your confidence and creativity, so here’s a gentle nudge to remember:
