Il brodo fa bene al cuore … brodo is good for the heart❤️ aka facts!

This is an experimental accident and I thought I would share anyway! This is a brodo inspired pattern, I just love the colours and the hearty ingredients that go into this plate of warm goodness. I wanted to look deeper at what the vegetables and ingredients. What they looked like from the roots and then create something from there... into a pattern!

A little bit of context, brodo is Italian for bone broth. The feeling I have associated to brodo is family, childhood and wholeness. From as long as I can remember brodo has been a staple, and my mum would always make this for us growing up. I still love to make it and every time I do I feel like I am becoming an Italian nonna at the same time. ❤️

£3 for the fabric and 10+ hours to make this little hot piece (we got there in the end) it was a trial and error creation, figuring out darts and how to use my sewing machine too as I have only used her for small alterations but now I think I feel more confident! Win win 💗

3 years ago! Wow how time flys seriously. 🤌

Life after uni, has taught me a lot about being a creative, and navigating your path in the real world… I went into jobs and gained experience and tested my resilience & patience. Part of me lost that idea of ‘play’ which so many of us creatives are born to do. This can feel like you’ve lost a little part of yourself, that’s how I definitely felt…

Recently I’ve come to the decision that I feel ready to be creative again and I’m enjoying the process of learning about myself again. I think I’m entering my granny era (I’ve started knitting).

Being a creative is a self discovery, be patient with it, learn to play and do what makes you feel happy & in flow💙🌊
