📣 CALLING ALL FEMALES FOR AN EXCITING SHORT-FILM PROJECT! 📣

Looking for anyone who identifies as female (any age and location) with an inspirational or touching story of an incident which meant you had to break the lockdown rules in order to help or be there for someone else.

You can submit these stories anonymously and state if you do not want to be filmed. All in-person filming will take place in London or over Zoom.

Please submit your stories to the link in my bio : https://forms.gle/Dqh4AhzxDNdyfbLn7

Please share with anyone you know will be interested.

So excited to be working in collaboration with the amazing, award-winning Swati Chugh on this project!

When lockdown started I thought that this would be a great time for me to get some hours back and concentrate on my dream: filmmaking. However as hard as I tried with having a full-time job (which I am grateful for), being a carer and volunteering- I was finding myself falling massively behind on my own targets and imposter syndrome was eating me completely.

And now with lockdown measures easing, I’ve been finding myself worrying how to adapt and if I can bring myself back again - so taking baby steps, I made this short to (a) get my “hands dirty” again with filmmaking and (b) spread awareness of well-being resources available to those who have anxious or worried at the thought of what their future looks like.

Would love to hear your feedback on this and really appreciate it if you could help a sister out and share across your channels too! 🙏🏽 AND a big thank you to those who already have 💛

You Used to be Fun is now on IGTV (see link in my bio / Story) and if you want to view it on a bigger a bigger screen you can catch it on YouTube too (link in bio)

You used to be fun | Short-film

23 March 2021 marked the one-year anniversary of UK’s first lockdown which affected every single person in the country.

With lockdown measures easing, there have been endless memes over the joy of restaurants opening and gradually being able to socialise with other people - however there are many who are anxious and dreading the end of lockdown as they have become detached from their life before lockdown.

Going back to ‘normalisation’ can be daunting for many who may be questioning what and how they will live their lives. If you or if you know anyone who is encountering these feelings, please share and use these and many other great resources to help overcome these hard times:

On Wednesdays, we rebrand.
2020 you may have halted all our plans and knocked us back - however this did not mean that we stopped dreaming! We will continue to nurture our self-expression, integrity and freedom (of speech) in our work - just as the symbolic meaning of the peacock.

We maybe small but we are fierce!

THE BOOTH - a short-film is out now.
Follow Maya as she experiences modern dating in London, and see the effects on her well being.

Every day there are more than 1.6 billion swipes on just one dating app: we see a sample of five dates originating from this platform. They are all true stories, varying in length and reflecting the different situations and characters Maya encounters, along with the effects of meeting each one.
This short-film was entirely crowd-funded and created by debut writer/ director Nina Bhalla and co-produced with Jacqui Bickles-Smith. The cast includes: Kato Wong, Sina Ettehad, Shivi Hotwani, Henrique Risso, Niels Justesen, Nina Bhalla and Special Appearances including Chris Dinnall, Jacqui Bickles-Smith and Lisa Dhadrall.
