Some really helpful advice from Ross Brown at Holmes Mackillop when it comes to being aware of the legal process and rights of family members following the death of a loved one. Well worth a read of this piece in HeraldScotland.

Dealing with the death of a loved one, particularly at this time of year, is never easy. Although we’re all aware of the inevitability of the end,…

BBC Breakfast featured a report about the work of my record label, Conviction Records, the other day. It's Scotland's first record label for ex-offenders and I set it up with Eric McLellan. Thanks to the support of Creative Scotland, which distributed money from The National Lottery, we were able to deliver a hip hop course led by Becci Wallace who brought in the talented producer, Jordan Carey. I'm extremely grateful too for all the assistance given by the Scottish Prison Service.

Do have a look and get in touch if you want to know more. Feel free to share this post too!

For over a hundred years, Dunoon Burgh Hall was the beating heart of life in this coastal town on Scotland's west coast.
Gradually, in the second half of the 20th century, it fell into disrepair. 'Starchitect', John McAslan, who was born and raised in Dunoon, bought it for a pound in 2008 and returned it to the community.
In 2017, following a major refurbishment, the Hall reopened, and has since hosted a range of cultural activities, including theatre, gigs and major exhibitions featuring artworks by the likes Warhol, Degas and Joan Eardley.
The Hall's 150th anniversary celebrations kicked off last week with news of a fundraiser which will help it thrive and survive for the next 150 years.

Now the arts and cultural venue, Dunoon Burgh Hall, is appealing for people across the globe to mark its milestone anniversary by pledging financial…

Fascinating. A newly-discovered album of photographic salt prints attributed to Edinburgh architect Charles George Hood Kinnear (1830-1894) featuring Edinburgh people and places is up for sale next Wednesday with Lyon & Turnbull as part of its Rare Books, Manuscripts, Maps & Photographs auction.
Kinnear, a prominent Edinburgh architect of the day, was part of a circle of early photography enthusiasts active in Scotland during the mid-nineteenth century.
In his role with Edinburgh architectural firm John Dick Peddie, Kinnear was responsible for designing the city's Cockburn Street.

With its collaged line-up of The Beatles in the midst of a marching band of famous and not-so famous faces, the Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover is one the most recognisable images of the 20th Century.
