The 15-year-old died last September when a bus she was travelling on with fellow students crashed on the M53.

In documents submitted to Wirral Council, it says the scheme will address the lack of “sporting spaces, dining areas, changing rooms, study spaces, and social spaces, particularly for Sixth Form students”.
However there is frustration from some local residents that they were not told about the application, amid ongoing concerns about traffic congestion.

The Good Hood West Kirby on Banks Road closed in February, with the owners promising they would only be shut for “a few weeks” while the team helped support the opening of a new branch in Southport.

Old versus new at West Kirby station. As Merseyrail begins to phase out the old trains, they have repainted the first unit delivered back in 1978 in its original livery. Unit 507 001 was the train Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II rode on to officially unveil the Liverpool loop.
