WALL OF THE ROSES // ANDY CLARK

You can now see the highly-anticipated, local audience choice winner of our 2024 festival, The Wall of the Roses, on our YouTube channel!

The director Andy Clark sadly passed away before he could witness his film be shown to the public and subsequently adored by all, and we are so grateful his family and friends decided to submit his film to us. It was an honour to screen it, and we’re grateful to be the ones to upload it for everyone to enjoy whenever they need a laugh or bit of inspiration!

In our bio we’ve put a link to the JustGiving page which was created in memory of Andy by his family, as he passed away from early-onset Parkinson’s at the young age of 54. All proceeds go towards Parkinson’s UK, and any donation you make will carry his unique humour and clever filmmaking legacy onwards.

FIRST TIME FILMMAKERS // SCREEN ACTING EAST YORKSHIRE // TICK TOCK

Our collab this year with led to a bunch of strangers learning, writing, creating, and editing a film together that was then screened at our Local Screening at - all in FOUR DAYS!!

Couldn’t have done it without these amazing industry talents: Michael Kinsey, Callum Ahmed, Paul Stephenson, George Brignall-McDougall, Jordan Dean, Jessica Duffield, and Jacob Butler.

MASSIVE congratulations to all our filmmakers for their immense achievement - we’re glad UNTHINKABLE has led to creative connections being made and the smashin’ film TICK TOCK created + screened in such a short time.

More intensive workshops like this will be available next year 👏 thank you also to Screen Acting East
Yorkshire & Humber Street Gallery 🫡

UNTHINKABLE AWARD SCREENING

Been over a month since the award screening and we’re still raving about the films we saw!

Thank you to those winners and directors that attended, and we hope you all enjoyed the little surprise performance by the Pavillion Pierrots that rounded off the evening (I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of them).

Big thanks to our lovely judges and for managing to choose winners from such a strong pool of creativity.

And last but not least, thanks to Hull Truck for providing a great space for us 👍

If you attended the award screening let us know your favourite film in the comments!

KIALY TIHNGANG // OUTWITH

Two films that reimagine history and speculate on alternate futures. Themes of colonial European misrepresentation, extraction, and demonisation of West African cultural practices.

If you missed this stunning exhibition opening during our festival week then there’s still time to go experience it.
