Leanda GenX Radio Suffolk

Leanda GenX Radio Suffolk Leanda Hoyland-Linch opens up the throttle on GenX Radio Suffolk from 2 - 4pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Expect great music, bad jokes, irreverent humour and a bit about the life of an ageing rock chick who rides a very big motorbike.

Sunday mornings will never be the same without this God of radio, Ian Lawrence. I’ve been a regular part of the congregation at the Church of Lauro, for over a year. Few presenters at GenX Radio Suffolk have escaped without a bit of mostly accurate and hilarious mockery. Me included. I’m lucky enough to have Lauro as a mate so will continue to enjoy, completely unfettered, his humour and humility long after his last show.

Have you remembered to put out your wheelie bin this week? I ended up wearing the contents of mine....not pleasant but very funny for anyone who happened to be outside my house at 7am 🤣
As well as having a brand new mystery voice, I'll be talking about my 'battle of the bins', cottage cheese, school milk, National Argyle Day and lots more...join me at 2pm.

It's all back to normal this week and we see the return of the Mystery Voice and DINNER or BINNER.
After the season of excess, it's usually at this time in January when the bathroom scales (or those mysteriously shrinking waistbands) tell us it is time to cut back on the calories! So, the subject of this week's DINNER or BINNER is Cottage Cheese....which is often recommended as the low fat substitute for a delicious lump of full fat cheddar 🧐😏

Personally, I can't stand the stuff but what about you?
Cottage Cheese....DINNER or BINNER?

Join me at 2pm tomorrow afternoon for two hours of great music chat and a few giggles.

Happy new year! 🥳 Join me at 2pm tomorrow for my first afternoon show of 2025.

I'm back in the Presenter's chair on GenX Radio Suffolk , live from 2pm tomorrow for the last afternoon show of 2024.
Instead of my usual DINNER or BINNER? feature, I've created 2024: WINNER or BINNER?
Will this year be destined for the virtual garbage can or one that sits proudly on the dinner plate of good fortune?
Do your memories of 2024 repeat on you like a bad egg or would you go back for second helpings, given the chance?
2024 has been a WINNER for me for many reasons...but how about you?
Please share with me your highest 🤩, lowest 🤬, funniest 🤣 or not-so-funny 🫤 moments of the last 12 months. Let's celebrate the best and lay-to-rest the worst bits of 2024! 😁

Over to you....

Join me at 2pm today for more marzipan malarkey, the history of the Suffolk Rabbit Pie for Christmas Day breakfast, the Mystery Voice, news of some unmissable local and live gigs, plus some rather fine tuneage.

Tomorrow will be my last show until New Year’s Eve so I’d like to thank everyone for their support, tuning in and taking part.

Merry Christmas! 🎅 🎁🌲🤶❤️

This week sees the last of our seasonal DINNER or BINNER festive foods and I've saved the best (or not 🤢🤢) 'til last!
Marzipan...that sickly sweet, almond based confection that is literally EVERYWHERE at this time of year, moulded into fruit shapes, wrapped around fruit cakes or cunningly disguised inside an innocent looking chocolate...🎅🍏🍎🍐🍊🍋🍉🍌🍇🍍🥭🍑🍒🍈🍓🫐

So, is marzipan your thang? Or will it be heading for the bin?

The seasonal food theme continues for this week's DINNER or BINNER and now it's the turn of the traditional Christmas Pudding.
Most of us will buy or make one every year but does it get eaten or end up in the bin? Apparently it is one of the most hated Christmas foods even though it is steeped in tradition ( and usually brandy or rum!!)
My mum always hid a sixpence in the ones she made so it was with always with great excitement that we had to wait to see who would find it. Finding the sixpence was the only thing going for it, in my opinion!
So, over to you...Christmas Pudding - DINNER or BINNER?

For this week's DINNER or BINNER, I'm continuing my focus on seasonal favourites (or not!).

This week it's all about Egg nog or Advocaat depending on your point of view!

Egg nog is the Marmite of the alcoholic Christmas beverages – you love it or you hate it! It started life as an aristocratic drink in the 1800s, when eggs, milk, and sherry were all expensive, so nog was used to toast to prosperity and good health. 🥚🍸

Raw egg makes the consistency close to mucus but on a positive note, adding alcohol seems to kill salmonella!

So what is your verdict? DINNER or BINNER?
Will egg nog be on your Christmas table or confined to the nightmares of the past? 💀🎅🧟‍♀️

Join me at 2pm tomorrow on GenX Radio Suffolk.
