Paramount, the new owners of CBS (they bought it in 2025) have confirmed that CBS NEWS RADIO will close down in mid-May. The company let 24 regional journalists go yesterday and will make all 60 staff redundant on 22 May. CBS Radio News provides bulletins to around 700 affiliate stations. A sad day for broadcast journalism.

The U.S. Agency for World Media (USAGM) is looking for broadcasters to supply equipment for an expansion of its the Kuwaiti facility, which covers Iran and other Middle East and Gulf hotspots. The supplier will provide the audio processing chain equipment for use in the main control room. The tender will be evaluated on the principle of the Lowest Technically Acceptable Price.
