Say No to Child Abuse
Child abuse is a stain on our society that must not be tolerated in any form. It is heartbreaking to witness or hear about children being mistreated, especially when the abuser justifies their actions by claiming, "It's my child." The notion that having parental authority grants anyone the right to harm or mistreat a child is deeply flawed and must be challenged.
While cases of abuse seen in public spaces often result in public outcry and consequences, many instances go unnoticed behind closed doors. This selective accountability is not enough. Every child, whether in the public eye or hidden from view, deserves love, respect, and protection.
Focusing on punishing visible offenders may deter some, but it is not a complete solution. Society must work towards creating a culture where child abuse is entirely unacceptable—both in private and public spaces. This requires raising awareness, educating parents and caregivers, and establishing systems that prioritize the well-being of children.
Abuse is not discipline. It is not culture. It is not love. It is a failure to nurture and protect. Together, we must say no to child abuse and ensure that every child grows up in an environment that allows them to thrive.
