As we come to the end of the year we thought we would update you all on A Chat With and our plan for the next 12 months. Some of you may already be aware our Project Manager Mary has been off on Maternity leave since July and is not due to return for a few more months.

While Series four has been a huge success, we will be pressing pause on any new series of A Chat With until Mary has returned. This will give us time to revisit the structure of the series and how to further improve it ready for later in 2022.

If you have enjoyed the series but think you can provide some feedback please get in touch! Equally, if you would like to be involved in a future episode or know an organisation you would like to see, drop us an email at [email protected]

As always, we really appreciate your support and hope you enjoyed our latest series! All previous episodes can be found on our YouTube channel.

We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the New Year!

Are we finally breaking fast fashion's grip on our wardrobes?

What is fast fashion?

In our recent chat with Uniform Exchange we talked about how recycling clothing is so important to our local communities.

The following article provides great insight into how our perceptions are changing!

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/fashion/style/finally-breaking-fast-fashions-grip-wardrobes/

Though sustainability has been a fashion industry buzzword for several years now, many brands are still paying mere lip service to the movement, greenwashing their way through a complicated and ever-shifting landscape.

Who are Uniform Exchange?

“Uniform Exchange aims to encourage the people of Kirklees to recycle and donate old school uniform items rather than putting them in the bin.

There are many families across Kirklees who no longer receive a school uniform grant and would benefit from your generosity.

By recycling old school uniform we can bridge the gap and help families send their children to school in proper uniform reducing the risk of bullying.”

Stages of grief | Grieving in your own way

Our theme of this week , and we know how much of a hard topic it can be to talk about.

There are some really good links provided by different charities on how to get any help you need

Mind: https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/your-stories/coping-with-grief-when-my-dad-died/

Grief is a natural response to losing someone you care about. There's no right or wrong way to grieve. Everyone’s experiences of grief are individual. The important thing is to do what feels right for you.
