CHARITY TRACTOR RUN 🚜 | Charity Christmas Tractor Run will visit Holme Lacy, Fownhope, Brockhampton, Hoarwithy, Little Dewchurch and Aconbury on Saturday 7th December! 🎅🎄

On Saturday 7th December 2024 We Are Farming Minds will be holding a Christmas Tractor Run which will depart from Wye Valley Metals, Rotherwas Industrial Estate, Hereford HR2 6NS.

Registration from 3.30pm for prompt departure at 4.30pm. The route will go clockwise through all of the villages listed above and will return to Wye Valley Metals.

The tractor run will be followed by a FREE farming family social event (FOR FARMING FAMILIES ONLY) which is being held at Sink Green Farm B&B, HR2 6LE (via a short walk across an adjacent field from Wye Valley Metals) by kind permission of David & Sue.

Family fun & festivities begin at 5.30pm, to finish by 9pm.

Hot food will be provided for everyone with a ticket and tractor run wristband.

There will also be a bottle bar, hot drinks & cakes available to buy (cash or card).

There will be loads for the kids to enjoy! Face painting, gingerbread decorating, Xmas crafts and an amazing pop-up farm by Pentre Farm.

This will be a chance for farming families to spend some time together and get into the Christmas spirit!

🔷 The A465 between Hereford and Abergavenny has standing water in many areas, with some quite deep flooding at Wormbridge and Pontrilas.

🔷 The A49 between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye has standing water, as well as the A40 between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth.

🔷 The A49 is closed between Leominster and Ludlow due to flooding near OK Diner. A stretch of the A49 is also flooded near Wellington, between Dinmore and Hereford.

“A few places, particularly over hills, may see an additional 30-40 mm before rain clears east by early afternoon.”

We are asking people to put £25 aside, to spend at a local retailer.

That could mean you purchase your Christmas cards from a local shop, rather than a large chain, or perhaps you purchase a gift card at a local clothing shop, rather than a national chain.

By doing so, you will help create a positive wave in the local economy. We know many of you already support local businesses, but if you could commit to spending another £25, we think it would make a huge difference! 🤩

🎄| The Hereford Christmas Tractor Run IS returning again this year on Saturday 21st December! Beep Beep! (4.30pm-7.30pm!) 🚜🎅

🎄| The Ledbury Christmas Tractor Run IS returning again this year on Wednesday 18th December! Beep Beep! (4.30pm-7.30pm!) 🚜🎅

🎄| The Gloucester Christmas Tractor Run IS returning again this year on Sunday 15th December! Beep Beep! (4.30pm-7.30pm!) 🚜🎅

Last year’s tractor runs in Hereford, Ledbury and Gloucester raised more than £10,000 for charity!

BREAKING NEWS 🚨 | There is currently an increased police presence in Hereford after officers received a report of a r**e in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 3 November).

Officers were on scene within the grounds of Hereford Cathedral after a report was received that a woman had been r**ed at around 4.30am.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of r**e and remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Colin Berry said: “We understand that incidents like this can be unsettling for the community, and I want to provide reassurance that we believe there is no wider risk to the public.

“The victim is currently being supported by our specially trained officers.

“Following the review of CCTV footage, there are people passing through the area around the time of the incident that we would like to speak with.

“You may have seen something suspicious or witnessed part of the incident, but any information you can provide could be valuable to our investigation, and we encourage you to come forward."

Sky and NOW Team Up with Dogs Trust to Launch Pop-Up Bonfire Night TV Channel for Anxious Pets.

With firework season fast approaching, Sky and NOW have teamed up with Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, to launch a dedicated pop-up TV channel designed to help our four-legged friends stay calm during the potentially stressful period.

The aptly named 'BonfireNight' channel will feature a range of soothing, funny and distracting movies specifically curated for dogs to enjoy with their owners, helping to ease anxiety triggered by loud noises. Found on Sky channel 310, it will air from 6am on November 1 until 6am on November 6, featuring hit movies perfect for owners and dogs alike. The collection of movies will also be available to watch on demand and with a NOW Cinema pass.

Sky and NOW’s extensive back catalogue of more than 1,000 films were whittled down with the help of Dogs Trust. The charity’s experts said feel-good, relaxing, and familiar content was a must-have, as it helps keep dogs’ owners calm, which in turn can help pooches relax too. Films that promote laughter and general positivity were essential, while anything with negatively-associated emotions and intense content were ruled out.

The final list of 21 includes blockbuster titles such as Barbie and Anyone But You – as well as comedy classics David Brent: Life on the Road and Step Brothers – which are guaranteed to put a smile on owners’ faces. Classic, familiar, flicks include the iconic E.T., the Bridget Jones trilogy and Shrek 1.

As a nod to our four-legged friends, Sky TV has added a brand-new voice command which will direct users straight to a dedicated page where they’ll be able to find all the movies from the Bonfire Night collection. Simply say “bark” into your Sky Glass or Sky Stream remote****.
