Weirdest thing about getting married 12 years ago, is IG wasn't that big then, and camera phones were pretty crap, so I don't have loads of pics popping up in memories today... But over the next week as people uploaded their albums to Facebook, the memories start rolling in. 😂

We are looking for pre-school children, either individuals or siblings, aged between 12m-4yo (must be walking) to join us Studios, St. Leonards, on Friday 15th March, between 10.30-2.30 (timing slots will be allocated).

Images will mainly be of the feet (as seen above), showing off the new swim shoe collection. There is also an opportunity to model our swimwear collection too, including swim shorts, swimming costumes and sun hats.

divides parents up and down the country... but personally I think it's a great opportunity to get the kids thinking about their favourite books and the characters in them... and let's not forget it is a charity day to encourage reading.

Yes it can be stressful, and yes there may have been arguments about how the hat was made (not to the crayons liking unfortunately) but it got us working together as a family to sort the costumes, in the nick of time... some bits borrowed, some bits foraged from the garden, loft and backs of cupboards, some bits new and some bits crafted.

I know lots of people hate it for many reasons, but for now I'm embracing the fact my kids are still happy to wear crap I've cobbled together for them.

Content feeling flat as a Pancake? Try these simple social tips to inject a bit more life into your social media.

1. Understand what's working and what isn't. Get under the skin of your stats. Complete an audit to understand what's working and what isn't. When you should be posting, who you are talking to. Getting back to basics is often the best place to start.

2. Be brave and give Reels a go!

3. Go Live. Either on your own, with an Ask Me Anything, an opportunity for followers to get to know you and your brand a bit better. Or partner with a complimentary brand or service that you know your followers will love.

4. Make the most of the features in Stories. These will help drive engagement and can help you get to know your audience a bit better too... Set up a poll to encourage audience interaction (it’s also a great way to gather information and to see what your audience and followers like, or don't like). You can also use stories as a way to ask questions or let your followers ask you questions.

5. Freshen up your feed. Try some new designs, mix up use some fresh imagery, be real, show your face. Most important make sure your posts tell a story... have a relevance... and a reason.

6. Give your captions more attention. Start with a great hook, follow through with an insightful, interesting, engaging, key word optimised post and a clear call to action.

7. Don't forget the Hashtags. Trial what works for you here... I suggest around 5.

Great session with my clients The Cleveland Arms and The Chimney House Brighton yesterday chatting about the importance of creating quality images and videos for social media. We covered everything from the importance of creating great content, to setting up Your phone for success, making Reels as well as ideas for content they could create when they have downtime.

With some clients, it makes sense for the team on the ground to send through the content. This makes for more authentic content, and allows us to share the daily action going on within the business. But it's essential the content they provide is the best possible quality to support the social strategy and monthly plans.

Do you when you should be posting on your social accounts... and why?

Whilst there are plenty of obvious genetic 'best time to post' stats out there, I strongly advise keeping a close check on your insights (across all your different social networks) to determine when YOUR audience is online and most likely to engage with your content.

Once you've got that down, also think about the type of posts you share and when.

Do funny, relatable, informative posts do best first thing in the morning?? Do your sales posts perform better in the evening when people have more time to research or consider your proposition? You won't know until you check!

1. WE'LL BE GOING LIVE MORE OFTEN
reach is expected to grow 15-FOLD and reach 17% of ALL internet traffic in 2022. If you and your team haven’t been “going live” regularly, it’s time to include these kinds of videos in your social media marketing plan.

2. WE'LL BE PUTTING OUR AUDIENCE FRONT AND CENTRE
(or ) is an easy and effective way to promote your brand and grow your audience. When someone creates content promoting your business, be sure to share it on your feed & in your stories. Don't forget to tag them!

3. WE'LL BE WORKING WITH MICRO-INFLUENCERS
Social media influencers with more than 1,000 followers but fewer than 100,000. often have deeper connections with their audiences, and this engagement can lead to better conversions and more growth for YOU.

Be creative and original. It's Ok to follow trends... but add your own spin on it.

Find your niche and post consistently. Make sure you're providing value, being educational, or simply making others laugh!

Include closed captions if you're doing a lot of talking... But if you're letting the captions do the talking, keep them short and sweet, and easy to read.
🎇
If you create posts via TikTok remember to remove the TikTok watermark! IG really doesn't like it and could lead to your reach getting hurt.
🎇
Hop on trends fast. If you're watching them on IG you've likely already missed the boat. Get on TikTok where the trends start.
🎇
Share the hell out of your Reel on your feed and Stories.
🎇
Include Hashtags. IG still allows 30, but test and see what works for you here. 5-8 really good ones may be enough for you. Just make sure they are relevant.

And finally the biggy! Use music from the Instagram library or create your own audio. Save and use trending music to capitalise on reach.

Instagram's 'Swipe up' is being replaced.

This news has been around for a month or so, but today it switched over for one of my clients and although I knew it was coming, it was a bit of a shock.

So, it got me thinking about the pros and cons...

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀
- Link Stickers are more visible and engaging - easier to use some might argue?
- They show the domain - giving additional peace of mind and confidence to users
- It’s a shiny new feature. We all like shiny new features! Let's see if it adds a little more intrigue and excitement to stories.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀
- It’s still only for users with over 10k followers at the moment... but plans indicate it will be rolled out to all accounts. 🤞🏼
- There's a change of language required. ‘Swipe up’ has been well and truly drilled into our brains - now it's going to be 'Tap, tap, tap'.
- Change of design. Time to get those templates updated, have a think about what you have in your story highlights. Do you need to make any changes there too?

Here’s some content prompts for this month, and there’s really a lot to choose from!

Use content prompts as a guide:
✔️ Have a think about which ones might apply to your business or sector.
✔️ Check out any relevant and jump on the conversation.
✔️ Be authentic and make sure your post is relevant.
❌ Don’t jump on a band waggon for the sake of it.
